Noticed a couple of posts for the first time in a while, was actually hoping it was because she got the arse, no luck unfortunately

we all knew that wasnt going to happen. just gona get worrrrse and worse.
stay tuned for women playing in the AFL

Get rid of her and bring back Christie Malthouse to continue her old job.
Channel 7 go and get Rebecca Madden doing the boundary work.
Fox Sports go and get the cute Jessica Yates and Sarah Jones doing the boundary work. Both of them are 100 times better looking than Tiffany Cherry who used to do it for Fox Footy.

She gives me the biggest headache, i will never watch a skilled stadium match if she is their.

I think her problem has everything to do with being a woman.

I think what she says is alright, but the fact that she is a woman means that as the game progresses her voice starts to weaken/wail more, and as an exciting moment builds in the 3rd and 4th quarter, her voices groans and screeches as she struggles to capture it with intensity.

Commentates like she's on the radio. The best TV callers will find the right balance between calling the play and letting the picture do the talking.

Tried to watch the game last night
kelli has improved drastically from last year

she completely ruined the Hawthorn vs Geelong game last year

but yesterday it wasnt kelli that was the problem. Yesterdays problem was that the teams involved were St Kilda and Sydney zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

lets hope she can keep this imrpovement going, could be the best commentator 10 has by the grand final (not like that's hard ;))

shes not the greatest but no worse then half the other clowns commentating afl matches.

i dont feel strongly about the job she does one way or the other, her voice is different but there are other callers who annoy me much more. atleast she actully calls the game, half the dribble that comes out of some other commentors mouth doesn't need to be said or heard during a football game imo.

She really needs to work on her voice.

I don't have a problem with the content but I like my commentators to be clear and loud!

Speak Up Kelly!!!! Really scream down the mic if you need to.

GET WILD GIRL!!!!

she got better as the game progressed, started quite mechanical and robotic in her calling, but as the game progressed she loosened up, and her calling was much better

she just needs the experience

whilst not the greatest caller, at least she knows her footy unlike....

After the hysteria generated on these boards about this lady's commentary I thought I would watch the replay last night to see what I thought.

I must say I don't have an issue with either her commentary (which admittedly needs work, but her confidence will improve over time) or her voice - which if anything seems to me to be "smoother" (or less irritating to those that find it that way) than last year.

I am not sure what the fuss is all about. I think it is fantastic to have a female calling the game and it is a shame that so many seem to want to relentlessly stick the boots in.

Shouldn't it be a question of whether or not the commentator is any good? Gender, race, age aside - if you're good enough, then by all means, but that has to be the main issue - is commentator X good enough?

I don't have an issue with her calling at all, I think it is good enough and will improve. Nothing to do with gender.

The comment was more along the lines that I think it is good for the game to have more women involved at all levels - umpiring, administration, media, playing womens' football, etc. I didn't make that clear I guess.

Who actually 'listens' to the TV commentary anyway. I know you can hear it, but for me it's pretty much background noise that I kind of tune out to. What exactly are the commentators saying that you can't work out by watching the game.

I agree and she got better as the game went on.
I think people are being way way too harsh after just 1 game and she is far from the worse one. Some people on here need to HTFU!

What was wrong with the game last night? St Kilda v Sydney games may have been pretty dull, low scoring affairs in the past but last nights game was a free flowing, high scoring game that had an exciting finish. Couldn't ask for much more really. Adelaide aren't exactly the most exciting team to watch either by the way.

As for Kelli Underwood's commentating I thought she was OK last night. Starting to get used to her voice a bit more and she seems to have improved from when she first started. She still wouldn't be one of my preferred commentators but she doesn't make me want to reach for the off switch either.

Perhaps for St Kilda's standards
scores in the 70s is not high scoring
I wouldnt call that game free flowing either
If it was played on Sydney's terms I would of found it more entertaining, but still a little boring

Thank god for West Coast vs Port Adelaide so I could leave midway through the 3rd quater :thumbsu:

even though that game was a thumping, at least that WAS FREE FLOWING

Played on Sydney's terms? They're usually the team that are trying to turn the game into an arm wrestle.

You missed a great last quarter by the way, would have been much better than watching Port flog West Coast.

annoys the shit out of me how they pronounce the G in Montagna's name, its a silent "g" for ****'s sake, as in Silvagni, apart from that, Kelly's calling is becoming tolerable
