Kerr gets a week

Probably as good as we could have hoped- I wouldn't have been astonished if he had of walked away with 2-4 weeks. I think we probably got a bit lucky.

Given Kerr has tended to be a bit susceptible to an attack of the angries, this probably came at a good time- hopefully he'll be a bit more circumspect in future- better that he learn his lessone now than, say, in round 22.

With the bulldogs first up, if the rest of the midfield comes to play, then we should be able to can cover for him, very very glad we'll have him the following week against port.

its great news! I expected, even with coastings points, a minimum 2 week suspension. 1 week is VERY good. Bullies away will be hard without him but it is a major boost having him for round 2 against Port.

i think 1 week is totally fair. i would of been very surprised if he got off (but very happy) or if he got 2 or more weeks.

Lucky break indeed

Very happy after hearing that. I thought at least 2 weeks. We should all feel very fortunate. We have enough midfielders to rotate through the centre so his loss won't be felt so hard against the Bullies. I think Burgoyne's spear tackle on him last year enlarged his medula oblongata...(That's the part of the brain that registers anger doesn't it? And why crocodiles are so angry all the time? I dunno...)

... Everyone knows that crocodiles are ornery all the time coz they've got all those teeth and no toothbrush!

:D

some years ago in the NT I had the opportunity to assist in the dissection of a croc of about 3 metres length. One of the things we found embedded deep in the bone of its upper jaw were several sets of the big, jagged spines from large fork-tailed catfish. Several of these spines were 5cm long and had been driven deep into the bone.

I am not surprised they are ornery critters.

although i haven't seen it, from the sounds of what people were saying before and after the incident than he has got off pretty lightly so we can be thankful for that.

Yeah he was probably a bit lucky.

But apparantly he went straight in, pleaded guilty, apologised to Wheatley and was out of there in 20 minutes.

Conceded that he was going to be suspended and was willing to cop it - good attitude to approach a first offense with I would guess, probably helped his case.

Good too see things havn't changed at the AFL. If Daniel Kerr was playing for one of 'The Big 3', (Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon) he would definately got 2-3 weeks. Tipical.

Good for the team, coz we're without him for only one round, and have others to cover for him, and for Kerr as he should learn his lesson.

You've got it all wrong mate. He wouldn't have been rubbed out at all if he was from either one of 'The Big 3'. While I agree that he was certainly lucky to get the one week, I'm sure if it was for instance Buckley or Hird, they would have been given a slap on the wrist.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
good one

but seriosly if he had been playing for one of those teams then they would of had hundreds of experts and video technicions and all that stuff and it would of taken hours. HAd it been buckley, eddies little pet, then he would of gotten off.

Tosser.

If it was one of the big 3, he would have gotten off.

Though I admit he did get off lightly, he did deserve 2 weeks minimum.

We're lucky. He's lucky.

In what will probably be a tight season, losing top tier players for nothing less than stupidity, will have an impact on our standing at the end of the season. Given that it's only round one, it's probably not as bad as if it had happended in July/August, but either way players need to think more about the consequences of their actions.
