Haven't seen a thread on this anywhere else... just interesting that in both the HS and The Age today, Thompson was quoted as saying Stephen King is no automatic selection this week, with Ottens probably coming back into the side. Said something about Kingy having to overcome the mental side of his game in regards to his body holding up. Must say I am glad to hear this coming from Bomber, but we'll see when it comes to selection tomorrow night...

Yeah i read that to, his definately third string at the moment, so if Ottens comes back, why not drop him back to the VFL and try to get 25 possies and 30 taps, barring injury keep him there until he plays back to back good games.

it may be a good game for the "hawk" so I would leave him in and perhaps give varcoe a rest (a lot depends on wether Gaz needs a week off).

Agree with the other 2 though, Tenace deserves his chance.

Exactly, remember how much they struggled on our tall forwards in that practice game? We need to leave Hawkins in and exploit that. Johnson in for Ablett (only if he needs a rest) or Byrnes. Tenace in for David Johnson.

I know we would be inexperienced but at least we'd have more players on the field who were hungry and that's got to count for something.

And why the heck should we drop Gary, Linga and Scarlett? They are good players, who play well when in a good position.

We just need a competent coach, then the whole team will lift up, and rise like a phoenix from the ashes of the 2006 H&A Season.
