Does anybody else hate this band. They are shit, and are corporate junkies. What is the point of painting your face, just make some music. If you are a musician, make music. If you are a clown, wear shit on your face.

Much like The Rolling Stones. They take you back to when you were getting some. But generally are rubbish. And why do they always sing the same two songs.

kiss are the shittest band of all time... i don't care how many records they've sold but crap is crap. It's the most bland and simple style of rock known to man... Only simpletons get into kiss.
 
Not much going on in their music, but hey, I am a Motorhead fan so I can't talk too much :p

Most of their songs are poor IMHO, cashing in on image rather than quality of music. That 'fantasy' deal gained a lot of following in the youth and the 'rebel' image of rock was huge. The biggest glam rock/metal bands, definitely the most successful. But they didn't set out to create intricate and deep music, they set out to make money, which is exactly what they did...

i'm not anti-paint since I'm a big Misfits fan and I would've loved to have seen them in their prime back in the early 80s.

I'm anti-shallow, crap glam-rock and that fits kiss to a tee.
 
Kiss rule, what a fun band, there's no one else like them, the mistake your all making is taking them too seriously, can't wait to get painted up and see them on Tuesday night :)

I am with you on this music wise though their first few albums are rated critically. Image wise I guess they took glam to a new high and as CarterS says below it is fun and heck they make money and I am sitting on a PC talking about them:). They are just an over the top cabaret act in the end and play stadiums instead of RSL's.

I know plenty of others who are going and are well into middle age so they seem to have an across the board appeal. Enjoy.

The folly is when people try to rate/compare them to other rock gigs that garnered similar success, albeit in hugely different ways. People enjoy simple music which doesn't take itself seriously, and that is KISS to a point.

HAVE been to one of their shows, and whilst I didn't like 95% of the songs, it ended up being fair fun and easy to get into. Only song I remember I liked was 'Black Diamond', which was written and performed by the drummer, formerly Peter Criss[Don't remember if it was the same drummer]

No I didn't buy the tickets... Won them, thought I would give it a shot...

It's been mentioned more than once that they have sold 90 million records. On the face of it, that's very impressive. But when you realise that they have released a gazillion "all-filler" records, it's nothing short of average. Seriously, does anyone know how many records they have actually released... I'm willing to gamble that 3 quarters of those are greatest hits/live type records.

I liked Kiss when i was 14, well and truly over them by 15. I dont mind some of their songs from 1974-75 but the rest is just tripe. Eric Carr is probably the only bloke to play in Kiss I ever respected.

But hey, look whos laughing all the way to the bank :thumbsd:

According to allmusic they have 31 official releases. These include 4 solo albums and (I think) 7 live albums. They have 32 compilation albums according to the same source. I have addressed this complaint previously in this post here but to cut and paste from that these artists have compilation albums as follows..........
The Beatles. 103. Compare that to the official releases and that is a staggering figure.
The Rolling Stones. 73
U2. 23
Your mentioned band of commercial virtue :rolleyes: Metallica. 12. They have 10 official releases.

If you listen to Alive 1 - they used to make music. Now they are a sad parody of themselves to support Gene simmons and Paul Stanley's luxurious retirement. Gene's avarice is horrible

WELL SAID!! KISS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!! been a fan since '78. While all the CRAP bands of todays scene get up in their flanny shirts and jeans, KISS get up and deliver a SHOW!!!! thats right a SHOW!!!! 2 hrs of ENTERTAINMENT plus!!!!!!!

Ad if ur judging KISS on their footy show appearance. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crappy sounding studio. Go see them live.

No one walks away from a KISS show demanding their money back. With shows coming up in bris, syd and NZ, and then a tour of europe ((multiple shows sold out in minutes), the KISS machine is rolling along nicely thank u very much.

All u KISS haters can go and listen to your bands that wont have a legacy of 10 years let alone 35 years like the GODS OF ROCK!!
 
lets see if some of todays act last 10 years let alone 30 like kiss have

you can hide behind the make up ,and pyro but the point is if the music isnt any good they would not have sold anything

how many artists have had one song or album then just disapeared?

you kiss fans say that todays music sucks. yes, only because you refer to the radio as 'todays music'. there are so many talented groups out there and such great music. you ****heads just dont know where to look and your musical taste will never evolve because of it.
