Did anyone see this? Bassett gets pushed into the fence and Knights comes flying in and decks the Roos player.

Gave away a free but I dont care. Good to see a young player step up like that

Shows he has the passion :thumbsu:

Great stuff from the young man.

Passion for the jumper and his teammates.

Well worth the free kick and eventual goal:thumbsu:

Was also a pretty big dive from the Roos bloke to get the free, it was reminicent of that Italian bloke hitting the ground after the Zidane headbutt in the WC final.

I want to see VB in a melee one day, imagine the damage he would inflict!

Also what was up with the Kangaroos player deliberately ripping off VB's GPS pack? That was totally unnecessary, almost unsportsmanlike.

Agreed with all that has been said about this. I was proud of Knighta when he did that. Shows his passion for the AFC and to stick up for his mates like that was great to see. :)

Onya Knights! :thumbsu:

Pretty much felt the same. Slamming the Hound into the fence was not needed and I thought someone should get in here and stand up for Bass. In comes Knights and sort him out a bit :D. Sure he gave away a free and eventual goal but I was proud of him for standing up for his team mate. It was great so see a youngster do that :thumbsu:

Pretty sure bass might have hit the guy in the face in the aftermath of the tackle.
The messing with Van Berlo just showed how much he was kicking their ass same with Bassett.

loved it......:thumbsu:

it's great to see a young man embrace a less clinical approach to his craft.

that action by Knights said alot about how the Crows have trained for and approached this game with a "enough is enough" mentality

Sums it up nicely for me fellas.

Well done Knighta - just had to be done!! :thumbsu:

It was very good to see, but I wonder what Fred would have been more annoyed about - being slammed into the fence or the goal that was kicked afterwards ;)

But as was pointed out on 5AA we would probably all be calling for his head if it happened in a GF when there was only a couple of points in it.

Who was the genius who made this point? It has no relevance AT ALL.

Round 12 vs Kangaroos, 10 minutes left, up by 6-7 goals.

Grand Final, 1 minute left, few points up.

Why would they even make this point?

True..................But I Loved it!!!! I was up out my seat cheering Onya Knighta you tell him not to mess with the Hound!!
The Passion was great I was fired up after thatt and then we kicked 5 goals after the one they gave away so technically even though he gave one away he inspired the team to kick and extra 5 with that sensational display of Patriotism for the club!!

I saw it and loved it, it cost us a goal, but I would have patted him on the back for it and not benched him.

It would have most probably been bonehead, that guy can take anything and give it a negative spin. I laughed at him tonight on the radio as he made a comment to Trigg that in his opinion Adelaide made a mistake getting rid of Clarke and wanted Trigg to agree with him. Yet other times I have heard McDermott criticising Adelaide over a lack of youngsters coming through yet the moment we try and do that he is criticising it and saying we should stick with the old brigade. Yet if we kept Clarke he would have been going on and on about well they have clarke but what are they going to do once he retires, so there wouldnt be any winning with that guy.

Was good to see, I was disappointed that the crow who was closest to Bass at the time did not remonstrate (not sure who it was), im sitting there thinking, "someone should be helping Bass out, cmon guys!" then bam! in comes knights to save the day :D and he did the right thing given the situation. Was also disappointing (gee i sound like a positive person dont i? :D) that these days the guy who retaliates gets penalised. Seriously, Basset into the fence is actually dangerous could do an injury, while a guy being pushed (read diving) onto the ground deserves a free kick?

Should have been a free kick to Bass in the first place. New rules this year state you cannot sling a player like that after he has gone out of bounds. Oh well was great to see Knights get stuck in. Was it Corey Jones? Probably frustrated he got owned big time tonight.

It should have been a free to bass and I recon the Kangas player did a freefall because Knighter only pushed him it wasnt a huge bump or anything.

I was going to agree with Nikki's statement and say I don't know how impressed I would have been if we'd lost the game by a goal though!

I would like to think that wiser heads would prevail and that the moments would be chosen well

I liked that it was

A: a youngster

B: that it happened

C: it seemed to fire the Crows up

I actually thought it was Mattner at the time :o and thought good on him. It was a stage of the game where it didn't matter. Given the situation, I see nothing wrong with what Knights did and showed the spirit with what the players played tonight.

I had mixed feelings about it. Only in the sense that I missed who did it and thought it must have been Thommo, and felt oh, he's at it again. A bit undisciplned again, but once in a year isn't all that bad.

But when I heard it was young Knighta, I had a totally different feeling of wow good on him for sticking up for his older team mate. I didn't think he had that sort of passion in him.

He did get taken off after it however.

It is apparently something that the coaching staff won't let happen as no one remonstated when Roo was hit, either last week or last evening.

Did it what, we seemed to be coasting a bit at the time and then we really kicked on from there.
