Draft range: 1-2
Player comparison: Chris Judd
Likely destinations: Melbourne (1,2)
Why: Best in the draft.
Alternatives: Jack Trengove

Round one

2 - MELBOURNE - Jack Trengove
DOB: 02/09/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 82kgRecruited from: Kybybolite/Sturt (SA)
Draft range: 1-2
Player comparison: James Hird
Likely destinations: Melbourne (1,2)
Why: Top 2 quality in the draft.
Alternatives: Dustin Martin, Anthony Morabito, John Butcher.

3 - RICHMOND - Dustin Martin
DOB: 26/06/91, Height: 187cm, Weight: 86kg
Recruited from: Castlemaine/Bendigo Pioneers (VIC)
Draft range: 3
Player comparison: Simon Black
Likely destinations: Richmond (3)
Why: Best available. Hard inside mid with skill who Richmond will like.
Alternatives: John Butcher, Anthony Morabito.

4 - FREMANTLE - Anthony Morabito
DOB: 29/10/91, Height: 190cm, Weight: 90kg
Recruited from: Harvey Brunswick/Peel Thunder (WA)
Draft range: 4-7
Player comparison: Adam Goodes
Likely destinations: Fremantle (4)
Why: WA boy, Physically and athletically gifted package. Best available. Most recently measured in at 193cm 96kg which gives me a feeling that he might play a bit more key position forward than many think which might in this draft allow Fremantle to hold off on a key position forward till a later pick.
Alternatives: John Butcher, Gary Rohan, Ben Cunnington.

5 - NORTH MELBOURNE - Ben Cunnington
DOB: 30/06/91, Height: 186cm, Weight: 84kg
Recruited from: Cobden/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range: 4-6
Player comparison: Brett Kirk
Likely destinations: North Melbourne (5), Sydney (6)
Why: Really fits the North Melbourne tough “fierce” new mold. I think Brad Scott will be really high on this kid. Ultimately a tossup between Cunnington and Rohan, but Cunnington is more “fierce”.
Alternatives: Gary Rohan, John Butcher.

6 - SYDNEY SWANS - Gary Rohan

DOB: 07/06/91, Height: 186cm, Weight: 79kg
Recruited from: Cobden/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range: 3-9

Player comparison: Dale Thomas
Likely destinations: North Melbourne (5), Sydney (6), West Coast (7), Port Adelaide (8,9)
Why: Personally I would go with Lucas at this pick and not sure how high Sydney are on Rohan, but with his speed and potential will add something different, if Sydney do choose to go this way.
Alternatives: Kane Lucas, John Butcher.

7 - WEST COAST EAGLES - Bradley Sheppard
DOB: 23/05/91, Height: 186cm, Weight: 78kg
Recruited from: Wesley College/East Fremantle (WA)
Draft range: 7-20
Player comparison: Grant Birchall
Likely destinations: West Coast (7), Port Adelaide (9), Essendon (10), Adelaide (13), Port Adelaide (16), Geelong (17), Fremantle (20).
Why: Possible top 10 quality, could play as a running back or mid. Really rate this guy. Lightning quick. Ultimately I think Sheppard will be a great fit and really think West Coast would be happy with this pick. Yes Butcher is better, but I think despite their key position needs that Sheppard is a really nice fit here. This is where I had him in my original drafts and glad to say that it looks like he will be picked here. Would also consider Sheppard over Lucas because Duncan should be available at 22.
Alternatives: Kane Lucas, Lewis Jetta, John Butcher.

8 - PORT ADELAIDE - John Butcher
DOB: 03/07/91, Height: 197cm, Weight: 84kg
Recruited from: Maffra/Gippsland Power (VIC)
Draft range: 4-11

Player comparison: Travis Cloke
Likely destinations: Fremantle (4), North Melbourne (5), Sydney (6), West Coast (7), Port Adelaide (8,9), Essendon (10), Melbourne (11).
Why: Best available key forward. Need a key forward and will look no further. Top 5 quality in this draft.
Alternatives: Kane Lucas.

9 - PORT ADELAIDE - Kane Lucas

DOB: 26/06/91, Height: 188cm, Weight: 79kg
Recruited from: Trinity College/East Fremantle (WA)
Draft range: 6-14
Player comparison: Dane Swan
Likely destinations: Sydney (6), West Coast (7), Port Adelaide (8,9), Essendon (10), Sydney (14).
Why: WA boy, impressed at draft camp and ultimately would be a good fit whether as a forward or a mid. Really comes across as a solid pick and if available I certainly would not pass on him at this stage. Certainly rate him over Melksham.
Alternatives: Luke Tapscott, Jake Melksham.

10 - ESSENDON - Jake Melksham
DOB: 29/08/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 75kg
Recruited from: PEGS/Calder Cannons (VIC) Player comparison: Scott Pendlebury
Likely destinations: Port Adelaide (9), Essendon (10), Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Geelong (17), North Melbourne (21).
Why: Essendon are really high on this guy. Had a big grand final which definitely increased his placing in this draft. Inside mid who Essendon need. Personally don’t rate and don’t see him as close to a top 10 quality guy in this draft with that said. Far too inconsistent and needs to put on some more weight. But Essendon will be licking their lips if he falls to 10.
Alternatives: Luke Tapscott, Koby Stevens.

11 - MELBOURNE - Aaron Black
DOB: 29/11/90, Height: 193cm, Weight: 78kg
Recruited from: Eaton/Peel Thunder (WA)
Draft range: 11-20
Player comparison: Mitchell Brown (Geelong)
Likely destinations: Melbourne (11), Carlton (12), Port Adelaide (16), Melbourne (18), Fremantle (20).
Why: Need a key position forward. Based on needs a pick I see happening. I don’t rate the key position players early in this draft as much as the mids, and in my view this is way too high for Black! But can still see Melbourne taking him. Can see him taking a while to develop due to his skinny build though.
Alternatives: Nathan Vardy, Jake Carlisle, Daniel Talia, Ben Griffiths, Lewis Jetta.

12 - CARLTON - Daniel Talia
DOB: 02/10/91, Height: 194cm, Weight: 89kg
Recruited from: Assumption College/Calder Cannons (VIC)
Draft range: 8-15

Player comparison: Nathan Bock
Likely destinations: Port Adelaide (9), Essendon (10), Melbourne (11), Carlton (12), Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15).
Why: Best key position defender in the draft. Grew up a Carlton supporter and I think Carlton will be really keen to add this AFL ready key position defender, could also play forward.
Alternatives: Jake Carlisle.

13 - ADELAIDE - Lewis Jetta
DOB: 04/05/89, Height: 178cm, Weight: 72kg
Recruited from: Bridgetown/Swan Districts (WA)
Draft range: 7-15
Likely destinations: West Coast (7), Essendon (10), Melbourne (11), Adelaide (13), Port Adelaide (16), Geelong (17), Melbourne (18), West Coast (22).
Why: This is probably around where Jetta should go. Though it is uncertain now with West Coast who appear to be skipping on him.
Alternatives: Koby Stevens, Luke Tapscott, Callum Bartlett, Andrew Moore.

14 - SYDNEY SWANS - Jasper McMillan-Pittard
DOB: 01/01/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 70kg
Recruited from: Torquay/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range: 6-28
Player comparison: Brendan Goddard
Likely destinations: Sydney (6), Adelaide (13), Sydney (14), Geelong (17), North Melbourne (25), Geelong (28).
Why: I always linked him with Geelong at 28, but Sydney are really high on this kid, so high that Paul Roos joked that he would take this kid on as an assistant coach. Looks likely to be picked here.
Alternatives: Andrew Moore, Luke Tapscott, Jake Carlisle, Koby Stevens.

15 - WESTERN BULLDOGS - Andrew Moore
DOB: 30/05/91, Height: 188cm, Weight: 81kg
Recruited from: Yarra Valley Grammar/Eastern Ranges (VIC)
Draft range: 13-19
Player comparison: Robert Murphy
Likely destinations: Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15), Geelong (17), Richmond (19).
Why: Versatile and could play anywhere, due to his versatility I could see him making the 22 easily. Would be a nice immediate help.
Alternatives: Ben Griffiths, Luke Tapscott, Koby Stevens.

16 - PORT ADELAIDE - Luke Tapscott
DOB: 28/06/91, Height: 180cm, Weight: 86kg
Recruited from: Orroroo/North Adelaide (SA)
Draft range: 8-24

Player comparison: Mark Ricciuto
Likely destinations: Port Adelaide (8,9), Essendon (10), Adelaide (13), Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Essendon (24).
Why: Penetrating kick, physically mature body and definite top 10 quality guy. SA boy who if available is too good to pass up, will if available be at this stage in the draft a great pick and leave Port with a really nice draft!
Alternatives: Koby Stevens, Jake Carlisle, Nathan Vardy.

17 - GEELONG - Ryan Bastinac
DOB: 22/06/91, Height: 183cm, Weight: 74kg
Recruited from: Rowville/Dandenong Stingrays (VIC)
Draft range: 10-21

Player comparison: Scott Pendlebury
Likely destinations: Essendon (10), Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Geelong (17), Richmond (19), Fremantle (20), North Melbourne (21).
Why: If available here I can see him getting snapped up. I sense that Geelong could be interested here. Quality inside mid who is very damaging. Best available and I can see him developing into one of the better players in this draft. Really rate him and definitely 1st round quality. Can see him becoming one of the top 10 to come from this draft.
Alternatives: Nathan Vardy, Jake Carlisle.

Round two

18 - MELBOURNE - Nathan Vardy
DOB: 25/06/91, Height: 198cm, Weight: 89kg
Recruited from: Allies/Gippsland Power (VIC)
Draft range: 8-28

Player comparison: Darren Jolly
Likely destinations: Melbourne (11), Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Melbourne (18), Richmond (19), Fremantle (20), North Melbourne (21), Essendon (24).
Why: Best available ruckman. Also plays forward and I think he might spend more of his time forward throughout his career which makes me think that Melbourne might want another ruckman at 34 if someone worthwhile is available.
Alternatives: Ben Griffiths, Jake Carlisle, Jack Fitzpatrick.

19 - RICHMOND - Jake Carlisle
DOB:
01/10/91, Height: 196cm, Weight: 83kg
Recruited from:
Craigieburn/Calder Cannons (VIC)
Draft range: 11-19
Player comparison: Adam Hunter
Likely destinations: Melbourne (11), Carlton (12), Port Adelaide (16), Geelong (17), Melbourne (18), Richmond (19).
Why: Need key position players and Carlisle can play either forward or back, a pick that will set them up well for the future and solidify their spine, reads the play well. At this stage in the draft probably not a bad pickup at all. Ultimately expect him to play more forward.
Alternatives: Matthew Panos, Jack Fitzpatrick.

20 - FREMANTLE - Ben Griffiths
DOB: 17/09/91, Height: 199cm, Weight: 98kg
Recruited from: Blackburn/Eastern Ranges (VIC)
Draft range: 11-31

Player comparison: David Hale
Likely destinations: Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Melbourne (18), Richmond (19), Fremantle (20), West Coast (22), West Coast (23), Essendon (24), Essendon (26), Western Bull Dogs (31).
Why: I can see him having an immediate impact due to their key position needs. Physically ready. Can see him spending time up forward and possibly even as a backup ruck due to his large frame.
Alternatives: Max Gawn, Jack Fitzpatrick, Nat Fyfe, Troy Taylor, Allen Christensen.

21 - NORTH MELBOURNE - Callum Bartlett
DOB: 19/06/91, Height: 179cm, Weight: 75kg
Recruited from: North Geelong/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range:
14-28
Player comparison: Marc Murphy
Likely destinations: Adelaide (13), North Melbourne (21), Essendon (24), North Melbourne (25), Essendon (26), Brisbane (27), Geelong (28), Adelaide (29).
Why: Real speedster. Before this year was considered possible first round pick. Will be interested to see where he lands, not certain he will go this high, but after going Cunnington with pick 5, would be a nice pick at 21 to get something similar to what they missed out in Rohan.
Alternatives: Jordan Gysberts, Jack Fitzpatrick, Nat Fyfe, Mitchell Duncan, Allen Christensen.

22 - WEST COAST EAGLES - Mitchell Duncan
DOB: 10/06/91, Height: 188cm, Weight: 81kg
Recruited from: Trinity College/East Perth (WA)
Draft range: 21-33

Player comparison: Ryan O’Keefe
Likely destinations: North Melbourne (21), West Coast (22), West Coast (23), Essendon (24), North Melbourne (25), Essendon (26), Geelong (28), Western Bull Dogs (31), St Kilda (32), Essendon (33).
Why: Mid/ forward who I think will become a solid player. If they don’t go with Lucas at 7, then Duncan is probably the next closest thing and would be a nice pick at this stage.
Alternatives: Nat Fyfe, Travis Colyer, Daniel Menzel.

23 - WEST COAST EAGLES - Travis Colyer
DOB: 24/08/91, Height: 175cm, Weight: 73kg
Recruited from: Trinity College/Claremont (WA)
Draft range:
20-39
Player comparison: Matthew Stokes
Likely destinations: West Coast (22), West Coast (23), Brisbane (27), Essendon (33).
Why: West Coast have expressed an interest in acquiring a small forward. This guy has x-factor and is super fast. To me probably a bit high for him but considering their needs will likely be their pick.
Alternatives: Nat Fyfe, Daniel Menzel, Koby Stevens, Allen Christensen, Gerrick Weedon, Trent Dennis-Lane.

24 - ESSENDON - Koby Stevens
DOB: 18/06/91, Height: 187cm, Weight: 83kg
Recruited from: Lucknow/Gippsland Power (VIC)
Draft range: 10-24
Player comparison: Shane Crawford
Likely destinations: Essendon (10), Adelaide (13), Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15), Port Adelaide (16), Essendon (24).
Why: Quality inside mid who I can see fitting into the midfield really nicely. A solid pick who could slide. Would ultimately be a great fit for Essendon and with Melksham and Stevens it looks like their midfield needs are met.
Alternatives: Allen Christensen, Jordan Gysberts, Daniel Menzel, Travis Colyer, Matthew Panos, Jesse Crichton.

25 - NORTH MELBOURNE - Nat Fyfe
DOB: 18/09/91, Height: 186cm, Weight: 73kg
Recruited from:
Aquinas College/Claremont (WA)
Draft range: 20-37

Player comparison: Steve Johnson
Likely destinations: West Coast (22), West Coast (23), North Melbourne (25), Geelong (28), Collingwood (30), North Melbourne (37).
Why: I can see him becoming a very good player once he fills out a bit. Has some x-factor to him and will have something different to offer. Will be a welcome addition up forward.
Alternatives: Travis Colyer, Ben Griffiths, Daniel Menzel, Allen Christensen, Jesse Crichton.

26 - ESSENDON - Allen Christensen
DOB: 19/05/91, Height: 176cm, Weight: 75kg
Recruited from:
Lara/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range: 10-40

Player comparison: Daniel Kerr
Likely destinations: Fremantle (20), North Melbourne (21), West Coast (23), Essendon (24), North Melbourne (25), Essendon (26), Essendon (33), Geelong (40).
Why: Best available at this point in time and is a quality inside mid.
Alternatives: Daniel Menzel, Travis Colyer, Matthew Panos, Jesse Crichton, Troy Taylor.

27 - BRISBANE LIONS - Daniel Menzel
DOB: 13/09/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 77kg
Recruited from:
Golden Grove/Central District (SA)
Draft range: 22-40

Player comparison: Luke Hodge
Likely destinations: West Coast (22, 23), Essendon (24), Essendon (26), Brisbane (27), Adelaide (29), Western Bull Dogs (31), Essendon (33).
Why: Quick, talented, sweeper type guy who if Bartlett is not available will likely be their pick word has it.
Alternatives: Josh Thomas, Travis Colyer, Jesse Crichton.

28 - GEELONG - Joseph Dare
DOB: 17/10/92, Height: 188cm, Weight: 81kg
Recruited from: Colac/Geelong Falcons (VIC)
Draft range: 25-40

Player comparison: Robert Murphy
Likely destinations: North Melbourne (25), Geelong (28), Western Bull Dogs (31), St Kilda (32), North Melbourne (37), Sydney (38), Geelong (40).
Why: Versatile and can play forward or back. Handy utility. Geelong might consider Dare as being a possible Milburn replacement.
Alternatives: Dylan Grimes, Travis Colyer, Troy Taylor.

29 - ADELAIDE - James Craig
DOB: 18/04/91, Height: 195cm Weight: 92kg
Recruited from: Fitzroy/North Adelaide (SA)
Draft range: 29-39

Player comparison: Patrick Ryder/ Mitch Clark
Likely destinations: Adelaide (29), Fremantle (36), North Melbourne (37), Sydney (38), Hawthorn (39).
Why: Has a fantastic vertical leap and is a natural ruck technician. Bit undersized for a ruckman, but if you have seen him play then you would also be thinking he can make it. Regardless of how many undersized ruckman Adelaide have it would not surprise me at all if Adelaide went with Craig. Can see him played as a Leigh Brown type utility and a possible backup key position back as well as ruckman.
Alternatives: Sam Reid, Jack Fitzpatrick.

30 - COLLINGWOOD - Luke Ball

DOB: 25/05/84, Height: 183cm, Weight: 84kg
Recruited from: Xavier College/Sandringham Dragons/St Kilda (VIC)
Draft range: 18-30

Likely destinations: Melbourne (18), Essendon (26), Brisbane (27), Collingwood (30).
Why: Can see him dropping to Collingwood. Just see him in black and white next season. Maybe it was a dream? Who knows? We will soon find out I think.
Alternatives: Troy Taylor, Josh Thomas.

31 - WESTERN BULLDOGS - Jordan Gysberts
DOB: 11/06/91, Height: 188cm, Weight: 83kg
Recruited from: Yarra Valley Grammar/Eastern Ranges (VIC)
Draft range: 14-31

Player comparison: Shaun Higgins
Likely destinations: Sydney (14), Western Bull Dogs (15), North Melbourne (21), Essendon (24), North Melbourne (25), Essendon (26), Geelong (28), Adelaide (29), Collingwood (30).
Why: A nice mid at this pick. Gysberts would provide something different to this midfield. Good ball user.
Alternatives: Sam Reid, Jack Fitzpatrick.

32 - ST KILDA - Sam Reid
DOB: 27/12/91, Height: 194cm, Weight: 87kg
Recruited from: Wangaratta/Murray Bushrangers (VIC)
Draft range: 21-41
Player comparison: Ben Reid
Likely destinations: North Melbourne (21), North Melbourne (25), Geelong (28), Western Bull Dogs (31), St Kilda (32), Essendon (33), Richmond (35), North Melbourne (37), Geelong (40), North Melbourne (41).
Why: Could do with another key position defender. Reid is best available at this stage. Don’t think they will mind developing a young key defender who may take a few years like his brother Ben, likely will be quality in 3-4 years once he steps into the side. Probably a bit under rated on this site and I don’t see him dropping any further in this draft.
Alternatives: Travis Colyer, Jesse Crichton.

33 - ESSENDON - Troy Taylor
DOB: 12/09/91, Height: 189cm, Weight: 77kg
Recruited from: South Alice Springs/NT Thunder (NT)
Draft range: 20-37
Player comparison: Liam Jurrah
Likely destinations: Fremantle (20), Essendon (26), Geelong (28), Collingwood (30), Essendon (33), Fremantle (36), North Melbourne (37).
Why: Crowd favourite, fans will turn up to games just to watch this kid. Will take some time to develop into a consistent performer. One kid who I really hope makes it in this draft.
Alternatives: Jack Fitzpatrick, Dylan Grimes.

Round three

34 - MELBOURNE - Max Gawn
DOB: 28/12/91, Height: 208cm, Weight: 104kg
Recruited from: Ormond/Sandringham Dragons
Draft range: 16-36

Player comparison: Max Bailey.
Likely destinations: Melbourne (18), Fremantle (20), Essendon (33), Melbourne (34), Richmond (35), Hawthorn (39).
Why: Will need a ruckman and to me Vardy seems more like a forward so Gawn if available is the man.
Alternatives: Jack Fitzpatrick, Dylan Grimes.

35 - RICHMOND - Jack Fitzpatrick
DOB: 26/06/91, Height: 201cm, Weight: 85kg

Wyndhamvale/Western Jets (VIC)
Draft range: 19-52

Player comparison: Cameron Wood
Likely destinations: Richmond (19), Fremantle (20), North Melbourne (21), North Melbourne (25), Collingwood (30).
Why: Ultimately is only a project ruckman who will likely take a few years to develop, if available would be a really handy guy to have developing. Really hope he makes it, just hope his chronic fatigue doesn’t get the better of him, really admire everything he has gone through to be in contention to get selected, big fan. Can play ruck or forward which will appeal to Richmond.
Alternatives: Ayden Kennedy, Dylan Grimes, Ryan Harwood.

36 - FREMANTLE - Gerrick Weedon
DOB: 25/05/91, Height: 186cm, Weight: 80kg

Likely destinations: West Coast (22, 23), Fremantle (36), Hawthorn (39), Hawthorn (46), Fremantle (48), Fremantle (49), Richmond (51), Hawthorn (57), Hawthorn (58).
Why: Best available, will add a bit of spark up forward.
Alternatives: Roland Ah Chee, Trent Dennis-Lane.

37 - NORTH MELBOURNE - Josh Thomas

Draft range:
21-41
Player comparison: Trent Cotchin
Likely destinations: Brisbane (27), Collingwood (30), North Melbourne (37), Hawthorn (39).
Why: If Thomas is available here would be an absolute bargain. A genuine top 30 prospect who could very well turn out to be a top 20 player from this draft. Inside mid who is a good user of the footy, at this pick will be one of the undiscovered gems of this draft. Really rate him.
Alternatives: Jesse Crichton, Ayden Kennedy, Ryan Harwood.

Likely destinations: West Coast (22, 23), Essendon (24), Essendon (26), Brisbane (27), Collingwood (30), St Kilda (32), Essendon (33), Sydney (38), Hawthorn (39).
Why: This kid has real promise and I really like his effort. Great tackler and a nice user of the ball. Just needs to put on some weight and I can see him becoming a really handy player. Big fan of his game, would hate to see him go this low.
Alternatives: Dylan Grimes, Brock McCauley, Ryan Harwood, Myles Sewell.

Why: Inside mid who is not as much on the radar of recruiters as some on this site clearly think. Courageous mid who enjoys contests. The knock on him from a recruiters point of view will be development, pretty safe pick. Should be a solid pick at this stage in the draft. Real workman like mid.

Pre Season Draft:
Melbourne: Joel McDonald (Brisbane)
Why: Could do with a someone of McDonald’s versatility down back. Should never have been delisted by Brisbane, will prove to be a great addition for Melbourne.
Alternatives: Mitch Thorp.
Richmond: Cameron Cloke (Carlton)
Why: Could do with both another key position forward and a ruckman. Not a super athlete but a real footballer. Really hope he gets picked up somewhere, and he might just get a chance with Richmond where his father played.
Alternatives: Rhan Hooper.
Fremantle: Adam McPhee (Essendon)
Why: Didn’t resign with Essendon and appears set to return to Fremantle.
Alternatives: Danny Stanley.
Sydney: Daniel Bradshaw (Brisbane)
Why: Will add to the forwardline and give them back some of the firepower they have lost over this offseason.
Alternatives: Daniel Harris.
Hawthorn: Adam Pattison
Why: Want another ruckman and by missing out on Cameron Cloke to Richmond Pattison might be the next best available.
Alternatives: Wayde Skipper.
Essendon: Danny Stanley (Collingwood)
Why: Big bodied inside mid who can give some immediate help. AFL ready and I can see him playing 22 games. Dominates at VFL level, just due to Collingwood’s midfield depth didn’t get many chances, expect him to improve upon his games tally for Essendon.
Alternatives: Daniel Harris, Kane Tenace.
Brisbane: Daniel Harris (North Melbourne)
Why: Solid player who will be at the least a handy backup. With some aging mids could do with some more depth and at this stage Harris would be a nice pickup.
Alternatives: Kane Tenace, Mitch Thorp

Unlucky to miss out: (There will be players who we all will be wowed to see not get taken, and these are some of the names)

Matthew Panos
DOB: 25/01/91, Height: 191cm, Weight: 91kg
Recruited from: Rostrevor College/Norwood (SA)
Draft range: 16-rookie

Why: Reportedly has little interest from clubs. Only teams reported as being interested are Melbourne and Sydney who I can’t see taking him. Might just slip through to the rookie draft, personally rate him as a top 30 prospect which makes me cringe in now placing him in this draft. I think his best chance of getting drafted is Essendon at 33, and if not can see him slipping right through. Would love him at Collingwood at 62!!!

Joel Houghton (Perth Colts, WA)
Height: 194cm Weight: 82kg, DOB: 26/11/1991
Why: Is a chance at the Fremantle picks (48, 49, 52), if they can get a big before this pick I think he will last to the PSD.

Luke Thompson (Geelong Falcons, VIC)
Height: 192cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 08/02/91
Recruited from: Timboon
Why: Another prospect I’m pretty keen on, disappointed not to find a place for him. Just doesn’t sound like there is enough interest. Would think that Geelong and Richmond might look late.

Luke McDonald (Eastern Rangers, VIC)
Height: 195cm Weight: 84kg D.O.B:29-Apr-1990
Why: Not all that much interest from clubs by the sound of it. Another prospect I rate, just being mature age it is often hard to break into the mix. Might be looked at by Richmond at 67 and 72.
Dylan Jones (Sandringham Dragons, VIC)
Height: 196cm, Weight: 87kg, DOB: 03/11/91
Recruited from: Wesley College
Why: His best chance at getting picked is by the Western Bull Dogs late. But can see better players available leaving Jones to slip to the rookie draft.
Shane Page (Bendigo, VIC)
Height: 184cm Weight: 75kg D.O.B:30-Apr-1991
Why: A prospect I always thought would be boarderline selection. Think he will go rookie, but be a nice rookie pickup for the club that selects him.

Chris Luff
Why: Best chance of getting Selected to me is Sydney at 54 or 55. Might also get considered by Fremantle at 52, but looks like he will slip through to the rookie draft.

Zach Ledin (Geelong Falcons, VIC)
Height: 181cm, Weight: 74kg
Why: A prospect I have been 50/50 on. Could get drafted, my thinking is Sydney might have an interest and perhaps Richmond, but with likely better players available could slip to the rookie draft.

Robbie Hicks (Calder Cannons, VIC)
Height: 176cm, Weight: 68kg, DOB: 10/09/91
Recruited from: PEGS
Why: Most likely rookie selection, but could get drafted.

Tom Harms (Sturt, SA)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 15/6/91
Recruited from: Immanuel College
Why: Most likely rookie selection, but could get drafted.

Levi Casboult (Dandenong Stingrays)
Height: 197cm Weight:102kg D.O.B:15-Mar-1990
Why: Big bodied forward who some think would be a nice selection, would be surprised to see him selected in the national draft and more likely a rookie draft prospect.
Deon Gordan (NT Thunder, NT)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 87kg, DOB: 02/04/91
Recruited from: St Mary's
Why: Some interest, but looks more likely a rookie prospect.
Claye Beams (QLD)
Why: Some interest from Collingwood, but I expect he will go to the rookie draft.
Joshua Giddings (Glenelg, SA)
Height: 190cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 29/08/91
Recruited from: Henley
Why: Consider him a chance but there are better options available.
Brock McCauley (Southport, QLD)
Height: 200cm, Weight: 97kg, D.O.B:20-Dec-1986
Why: Personally rate him and think he is a chance to go as high as 39 to Hawthorn. Would not surprise me at all if he got picked up and think there is a very good chance of it, just in this case didn’t find a fit for him.
Andrew Hooper (North Ballarat Rebels, VIC)
Height: 172cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 18/01/91
Why: Think he will be a chance to get selected by Richmond, but sounds like clubs rate him as more a rookie prospect which is disappointing because I see him having an immediate impact.
Mark Hutchings (East Perth, WA)
Height: 180cm, Weight: 82kg, DOB: 25/5/91
Recruited from: Coolbinia
Why: Ready made player who could get overlooked. Personally rate him, but it is not certainty that he will get drafted. Link him to St Kilda’s late picks, but likely to slip through by the sounds of things.
Tom MacKenzie (Geelong Falcons, VIC)
Height: 191cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 10/09/91
Recruited from: Anglesea
Why: Will get a look by Richmond at 67 and 72, but with other prospects also dropping might also drop to the rookie draft. Consider him a 50/50 chance at getting drafted.
Matthew Scott (Eastern Ranges, VIC)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 72kg, DOB: 12/04/91
Recruited from: Yarra Valley Grammar
Why: Rate him a 50/50 chance at getting drafted, might like MacKenzie get a look from Richmond at 67 and 72.
Kallen Geary (Bendigo Pioneers, VIC)
Height: 177cm, Weight: 70kg, DOB: 30/05/91
Recruited from: Eaglehawk
Why: Bit unfortunate, if picked will go late to the Western Bull Dogs or St Kilda but really another 50/50 prospect.
Jaryd Cachia
Height: 184cm Weight: 84kg DOB: 08/05/91
Recruited from: Northern Knights
Why: Appears likely to slip through which would be a shame after looking so promising so early, I can see him being a valuable rookie prospect at least.
Dylan McNeil (Murray Bushrangers, NSW)
Height: 178cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 20/03/91
Recruited from: Lavington
Why: Will get a look by Sydney, but another 50/50 that could drop to the rookie draft.
Byron Sumner
DOB: 16/05/91, Height: 174cm, Weight: 68kg
Recruited from: Woodville South/Eagles (SA)
Why: A prospect who personally I don’t rate as high as others, consider him more likely than not to get drafted, but that said couldn’t find a spot for him. Richmond, Western Bull Dogs and Collingwood seem the likely destinations.
Simon Buckley

DOB: 18/04/87, Height: 190cm, Weight: 90kg
Recruited from: St Pauls/Sandringham Dragons/Melbourne (VIC)
Why: Like Sumner couldn’t find a spot for him. Collingwood sound very keen. Personally don’t rate him that high. Might also go to North Melbourne.
Jordan Williams

DOB: 06/05/91, Height: 185cm, Weight: 80kg
Recruited from:
Echuca/Bendigo Pioneers (NSW)
Why: Someone who very well could get drafted, just not someone I really had on my radar and can’t really place where he will go if at all.
Majak Daw

DOB: 11/03/91, Height: 194cm, Weight: 89kg
Recruited from: Wyndhamvale/Western Jets (VIC)
Why: Sounds a chance to get selected by North Melbourne or the Western Bull Dogs. Even Collingwood sound keen, not sure what will happen with him, sounds like a good chance at getting drafted, just couldn’t find a spot for him.
Adam Pattison

DOB: 05/03/86, Height: 198cm, Weight: 97kg
Recruited from: Old Paradians/Northern Knights/Richmond (VIC)
Why: Sounds likely to go to Hawthorn late, just in my draft didn’t work out that way and instead lasted through to the rookie draft.

Cheers for this, well done. Melksham, Stevens, Christensen and Colyer. Cannot ask for anything more. But I think you're very harsh on Panos who i've seen in some people's 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Massive effort, well done.:thumbsu:

Brisbane should go for Trent Dennis-Lane at 47. And for 84, can't see them getting Power if Carey/ Panos are still available.

Dennis-Lane I see a chance to be taken by geelong at 40 or 42.

As for Carey/ Panos, I think it is more so that they just aren't on teams radars as much as they should be. Essendon would love Panos, just they may not use it on him. Then otherwise Sydney + Melbourne are considered interested but see other players as being better fits for them.

For Brisbane with Fevola + Brown not really sure Panos would be necessary and don't think he will really be on your radar much.

I see Panos being a top 30 quality guy in this draft, just don't have him down because it is starting to look like he could drop to the rookie draft.

Carey I see as being around a top 50 guy, but because of his perceived limited upside could drop, as Hutchings seems to have also from the radars of clubs.

This draft is for the purposes of predicting what the draft will look like as opposed to who is best available. If it was Panos available at 62 for Collingwood would not hesitate, unfortunately I see him slipping though which is really unfortunate.

It will be a shame if Panos does not get drafted. Personally really high on him and would take him at 62 if he was available.

Just I'm beginning to think that despite being someone I view as a top 30 quality guy in this draft, I can see him falling right through because the wrong clubs have picks at the wrong times in this draft.

The clubs he is being associated with (Melbourne + Sydney) I don't think he will be all that high on their priorities lists with other players available that I can see them being more interested in.

I'm not going for a draft where I think players should be placed, but more so a draft which appears likely to happen.

At this stage Panos I would rate only a 50/50 chance at being drafted which as you have identified should not be the case, but he just isn't on the club's radars as much as perhaps he should be.

Crows wouldn't get a PSD pick if unless they passed at 61.

A few surprising undrafted players here.
Panos, Sumner, McNeil, Buckley the main ones.

I'm not really too much of a fan of the players Bugatron has us taking. But that's just personal preference.

If you're high on Panos that why not use one of Freo's late selections on him?

We have 0 young KPP's on our senior list.
