For pick 8, Paul Symmons who played more games for us than Laidley did for you.

In the year you won a flag, Symmons played 4 games. In the year we won a flag, Laidley played nearly every game including the Grand Final.

Win.

Anyway, all this is academic as regards Koby Stevens. Not super keen on himself myself, but could fir in nicely inside for us and allow Ziebell to get a bit more outside/forward.

How are Mckinley and Edwards going?
Do you really want another one?

Possibly a slight win your way, doesn't change my assessment of our trades being (with the exception of McConnell) generally pretty even.

I wouldn't have thought North would be massively interested in Stevens to be honest, you guys have a pretty good young midfield rotation as it is with Swallow, Cunnington, Ziebell, Bastinac, Greenwood and maybe later Atley. He makes much more sense to a team like Geelong who will be looking to replace older guys in the very near future.

WC supporters suggesting that Stevens has little trade value - Put up the name Ashley Smith and there will be more interest.

Not many of us are suggesting that, it's the opposition fans saying he's got little value.

Personally I wouldn't be putting either of their names up for trade at all unless they absolutely want out.

what did we get for mcconnell....hurn was it?
i really am starting to get why north hate us so much

The acquisition of a Koby Stevens type would allow us to potentially have an AFL quality clearance player amongst the rotations whilst one of Swallow, Ziebell or Cunnington are resting. It also allows for a player like Ziebell to play elsewhere and utilise his kicking on the outside more often.

This would be the absolute optimal outcome.

Not little value...2nd round picks are gold this year no one is putting them on the table ...3rd still has currency ..trades are not easy, you try and match up players? we would be happy to have him at Power and we hear he wouldnt mind being here...he's good mates with John Butcher...How about our 3rd and an upgrade on your 4th?

He'd be really useful on the Geelong list. Would definitely offer up pick 32 and try and sweeten it if we could. I reckon he's worth a mid to late pick in the 20's

I think it would be Vic or stay in Perth, although maybe if no one in vic says they'll play him he could head to another state for an opportunity.

We won't use a 4th round, probably would use your third. It's not a deal we'd jump at. I also think we'd be less inclined to give Port a good deal after getting unders for Ebert.

You knew he was an Ebert when you drafted him.. that's not our fault:rolleyes:

I think there would be little chance of North topping that.

Geelong are in a position where they have to roll the dice to fill the holes created by leaving premiership dynasty players, so they may just indeed part with pick 32.

Geelong are going to be very interesting to observe from a list management perspective over the next 2-3 years.

We've got pick 36 in the second round (well really it's TBA because the FA compo picks haven't been handed out yet which could push everyone down the order). How we could sweeten that in a small way I'm not sure but I would think we'd be willing to do so.

With Corey and Chapman very close to the end there's clearly a role for him here as an inside midfielder if he's interested in coming to Geelong.

Opps yeah 36 would be the pick we have. We traded Mumford for pick 28 and Prismall for pick 39 so pick 36 doesn't seem too far out the realm of possibility.

I rate his ability higher than a pick 36 but I don't see many Victorian clubs offering more than that.

It'll be around the ballpark of what WC would (albeit begrudgingly) accept if he's got a particular club that he wants to go to.

Considering we are unlikely to go past the third round that does nothing for us. How about we give you stevens and you upgrade both our second and third round picks.

The pit we are in our 1st two picks are untouchable.... But we still have Thomas..;).... You could get 50 games out of him

Are the bombers still keen on Stevens?

Stevens + #17 for pick #9.

Eagles get a 8 pick upgrade.
Bombers get a ready made inside mid whose done 3 preseasons.

I'm hoping we can change his mind and stay as I can see a Josh Kennedy (swans) scenario again (not as good tho)

I have only half followed this but are Essendon able to trade their first round pick if they commit it to a father son pick?

Say that they are able to trade it, the above deal would work well for them since they'd get Joe Daniher for a first rounder anyway and therefore trading their pick 9 for a later first round pick wouldn't matter.

They'd basically be getting Stevens for free.

We can't trade it.

nope - they need 10 for Daniher because its a monty every club above them will bid for him.
