I knew a Richmond tool would respond.

How can you be certain that Milburn knew the ball was clear? You can't.

It can be reasonably expected since Milburn knocked the ball out and then turned towards where the ball landed before finishing off the tackle with a 2nd motion he knew the ball was free.

Kosi's was in one motion and where the ball spilled out he had his back to so it's unreasonable to suggest he would have known the ball was gone when he continued the tackle.

Again. Simple.

Nonsense. Not once does Milburn's head turn in the direction the ball was knocked free. It goes behind him and over his right shoulder.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, Doris. ;)

The fact that Milburn is the one that knocks the ball out of Edwards hands obviously has no currency either then? That apart from the fact he was facing the same way when the ball was knocked out before turning to implement the 2nd motion in the tackle.

Clear differences to the Kosi situation.

Thanks kahuna. A couple of deceptive replays there due to the perspective issues inherent with a camera. The last replay clearly shows the ball is well behind Milburn when his head does flick to the right for that split second.

And the replay at 26 seconds shows that he could not see the ball come out.

A ****ing joke!

Also what the hell does this thread/topic have to do with the Richmond FC LMAO ??? :)

Seriously though I am pleased with the verdict, the reason why Milburn got suspended cause the Tiger player got concussed, whereas the Collingwood player was okay after the tackle, I think the MRP takes into account the severity of a player's injury when it comes to their verdicts IMHO.[/quote]
Either consciously or subconsciously it would appear that way I think. Dunno if they've got an AFL directive to do so but even to the most impartial judge on the MRP I think it does influence their decisions in some manner - particularly with the current AFL climate regarding the hopeful elimination of upper body/head & neck injuries

Yeah, the last 2 really show the relative location of the football.

Welp, case closed. Another 1 off suspension down to being made an example of, and/or public/media outrage

obviously the kaiser soze of footballs being used in that game

Very lucky boy.

I wanted to see Koschitzke play to make it a good contest.

But if tackling an opponent and throwing him into the turf (he was reported on the spot by the umpire after turning 90 degrees) doesn't earn a player a week when he has points.

What does?

Let off so he could play and we can have a good contest if the Saints stand up...

Darren should have watched Gieschens/Andersons tape pre season as the other 600+ AFL players did.

Agreed Falchoon, don't know how this turned into a Darren "I'm so tough" Milburn thread in the first place. All I've read so far is wah...

Better call the Wahmbulance;)

So he should.

But going by this Darren Milburn should have been cleared.

You slow the play down to 0.01 seconds and say that Milburn saw the ball go out. How ridiculous, real time that would have been a flash of light, possibly the telstra dome roof.

It was only because the player Milburn crushed was a young kid, and it looked bad because he was concussed.

The Tribunal is a farce.

Milburn's was totally different..a copy of the stuff they put in the no no vid for this season.
Pin a blokes arms then bulldog him and they said u'd get time.
This was just a simple slinging tackle.
Correct decision and nothing inconsistent.

The tackle looked like one motion to me and, when you see the second camera angle, Kosi couldn't see the ball was out.

Good call.
