Seeing as though the forum has been getting a bit ridiculous of late, I thought I'd post this in the hope to end at least some of the shit regarding tanking and picks. Yes I might be adding to it, but at least this post has more logic to it then most of the other shit.

The simple question is who would be better for us, Kruezer or Cotchin? With the amount of guys we've invested in our ruck stocks, by the time Kruezer potenitally becomes the best ruckman in the AFL, im sure we will have a decent one ourselves, with plenty of potential backups. We don't need to have the best ruckman, just one that can hold their own against others. Based on that, I, and im guessing others would probably prefer Cotchin to boost our midfield rather than add another developing ruckman to our list.

The fact is this, the way Melbourne are playing, even if we lose to them in R22, we will still finish higher than them by percentage. So that will give us picks 1 & 4. We will get Kruezer with pick 1, and richmond or melbourne will almost definately take Cotchin, so we will lose out on getting him. If we do win another match, Richmond will take Kruezer, and Melbourne may or may not take Cotchin, at least in this situation we are a good chance to take him.

So facts are we will not get both Kruezer and Cotchin. Only way we can get Cotchin is by winning another match, by the sounds of things I'd personally like to get him, and the pride of winning, now thats logical thinking for the better of our future.

Sure some might say but we get Kruezer and a midfielder, but like I said, our ruck situation will be fine by the time Kruezer potentially becomes the best Ruckman, in which case I'd much prefer the best midfielder SUITED to Carlton, which by all accounts sounds like Cotchin, so bring on the wins, and bring on Cotchin.

Sorry again for another thread of this kind, and is that the right spelling of Kruezer and Cotchin? Hmm if not ill take more note of it IF they join our list.

Kreuzer. Have only seen both once, but a gun ruckman is too good to pass up. Who's to say that Hampson, Aisake or Jacobs will make it? Neither is a certainty - Hampson and Aisake are both very raw, Jacobs might lack the mobility to make it. Cotchin, while a gun mid, there's bound to be another gun mid if we get picks 1 and 3/4. Who's to say he'll be better than the few other highly rated mids?

What's the point of having a great ruckman, if the stock around it aren't that flash?

Give me a mid for our pick 1 thanks.

As i've said, there's no point having a brilliant ruckman if the players around him are unable to make the clearances.

Kruezer or no Kreuzer.... we've got Hampson, Aisake and Jacobs who can stand there and hit out. They've got to have the good players to hit out to!

Give me a mid. :thumbsu:

Exactly, that is sorta the point of this thread, that we arent actually chucking anything away by winning more matches. It doesnt matter that we don't get Kreuzer, as it actually means we will get a higher draft pick to get a midfielder with, which is actually what we need.

Rather than getting the 3rd best midfielder in the draft(As Richmond and Melbourne would take the best 2 if we dont win any more matches), we will actually get the 2nd best midfielder in the draft, behind melbourne if we do win more matches.

The advantage of getting the PP is not getting the no.1 pick bur getting 2 picks in the top 4.

Two way street. A ruckman hitting it down the throat of the midfielders can make them look better than they actually are. Not saying Kreuzer is that type of ruckman, but after the hitout, he effectively becomes a fifth midfielder. I'd argue that the improvement from an Ackland to Kreuzer would be much greater than adding Cotchin for one of our lower tier mid. Besides, our midfield isn't exactly poor, just inexperienced.

I would prefer Kruezer and one of cotchin, morton, ebert then just cotchin. Two picks in the top four is better than one I say.

Ha what is the point in posting these days, the worst thing is, I bet this isn't even the most obvious/pointless statements made today.

If anybody was watching Melbourne today then I would start thinking about other players. Not sure pick 3 will get you either of Kreuzer or Cotchin.

We've already taken quality mids at pick 1 before (Murph and Gibbs) while neglecting the KPP talent, I say we go with Kreuzer (if, and I hope it doesnt, eventuate that we get the first pick).
