The trigger was smart. The damage was done when we hired an idiot to be our coach.Brodie Smith extension was an own goal, probably technically not this pre-season as the damage was done when they included a games trigger but it still burns.

Luke Surman is our ruck, unless we bring one in.Taking off the Crows hat and putting the SANFL one on. So Norwood - do they have someone else to ruck now? Lost Boyd and now McAndrew. As much as I like to see that club lose out, its a bloody hard one for them at such late notice to have to replace and its impact is really a wider issue for the SANFL as all clubs can be affected like Norwood were, they were just the unlucky ones this time.
You'd think we would now, it makes a lot of sense.Unless we are going to give Turray way more time in the ruck in the SANFL I still think we need a young developing ruck on the list for the future because if ROB exercises his UFA rights or decides to call it a day to further his studies we are still in the same boat.
All eyes will be on McAndrew henceforth to see if he is actually capable of being an AFL level lead ruck because hopefully the club have only signed him on a one year deal while they assess his ability to be a lead AFL ruck.
Very handy player when his mind his rightLuke Surman is our ruck, unless we bring one in.
Only 196cms though but he’s come back very fit and he’s going to be good around the ground.

Let's give him a chance eh.True enough, but I don't see McAndrew as anything but a very short term break glass option made necessary due to poor list management. The bigger task of a genuine replacement ruck (or 2) remains outstanding
Reid stepped on his own foot for being in this situation in the first place.Reid stepped on his foot
Thankfully not too much disrespect shown to BACCS on this occasion. Just shows we should be encouraging posters to share rumours not bagging or laughing at themHave you got apologies from those who thought you were making it up...
Jaensch ??
Let's give him a chance eh.
Coz we ALL know...
1. Ruckman take longer to develop
2. You can grab a quality ruckman off someone's list
3.Sydney have a great culture
4.We need a project ruckman
5. Having 2 ruckmen in their 30's isn't the way.
6.We need a dominant SANFL Ruckman
7.Pressure Builds Diamonds
8.ROB taps it where ROB wants
9.Crouch reads it best off ROB's hands...

.
10.ROB?
Maybe our fitness gurus can turn him aroundWell, we know McAndrews spend 3 and a half years on Sydney's list before being delisted and is not a project ruckman as he's about to turn 25.
Really, this is the Strachan replacement. A top tier SANFL ruck who will hopefully sit on our list for 3 years (1 as a SPP, 2 rookie) and never play a single game for us. The ROB replacement likely comes this offseason as we are just about forced to try to get someone to move here for a ruck job.

More importantly we now hopefully have a ROB backup as it was our biggest risk before Andrews was added to our list. Our expectations should be low but Strachan was done at years end and showed he probably wasn't a great backup anyway.
I think it's brought forward something that was going to happen at seasons end anyway.
ROB now has legitimate competition, if ROB produces his usual run of poor games they’ll make a change a lot earlier than they would have done with StrachanMore importantly we now hopefully have a ROB backup as it was our biggest risk before Andrews was added to our list.

I can't recall exactly who was attacking you, but they look like complete fools now.I honestly didnt see those replies, it’s all good

So categorical... when they in fact were so wrong.
Do you remember which thread as wasn't the rumours one.
Have heard from a decent source that we are trying to get Strachan to retire so we can take McAndrew in the mid season draft (SSP now closed)

There's pages of posts & plenty of media praising McAndrews after the Pirie match.Well, we know McAndrews spend 3 and a half years on Sydney's list before being delisted and is not a project ruckman as he's about to turn 25.

I see and agree with your point.24 years old (25 in May), not 22.
Not really, it just a backup ruck role. Flicking through the lists, the consensus seems to be you need one who is ready to go with teams running a guy who is at least 24 (and most 26+). Teams seem to run a genuine back up ruck and a separate developing ruck, likely with the aim being to get a few AFL preseasons into them before worrying about any genuine ruck work in game (unless of course, they're an absolute jet).
Were there any?Have you got apologies from those who thought you were making it up...
