Every year we have a go at where clubs will finish the next year, but everybody is so far off the mark that it's almost not worth doing. Instead, we should all put up a ladder prediction, but you are allowed to give a 6 position window for each team.

Here's mine:
Adelaide 3rd-8th
Brisbane 6th-11th
Carlton 11th-16th
Collingwood 10th-15th
Essendon 7th-12th
Fremantle 4th-9th
Geelong 1st-6th
Hawthorn 11th-16th
Kangaroos 8th-13th
Melbourne 5th-10th
Port Adelaide 8th-13th
Richmond 10th-15th
St Kilda 1st-6th
Sydney 3rd-8th
West Coast 1st-6th
Western Bulldogs 2nd-7th

You expect Sydney to have a fall of Port proportions - but don't expect the Saints or the Eagles to fall? Interesting as Sydney had a lot of young players really step up at the end of the season - and only one Premiership player has left (and has been replaced). If the Swans weren't in the Top 4 in 2006 it would be disappointing.

I expect them to finish around 4th but don't think they will finish top 2, much the same as 2005. They will probably be in the hunt come finals time.

Adelaide: 4th-7th
Brisbane: 7th-12th
Carlton: 13th-16th
Collingwood: 6th-10th
Essendon: 6th-10th
Fremantle: 6th-11th
Geelong: 4th-7th
Hawthorn: 11th-15th
Kangaroos: 4th-8th (their list now have plenty of proven players)
Melbourne: 4th-8th
Port Adelaide: 8th-12th
Richmond: 5th-10th (big smokey)
St.Kilda: 1st-4th
Sydney: 3rd-6th
West Coast: 1st-4th
Western Bulldogs: 3rd-7th.

I think you need to re-do yours. Carlton and Hawthorn can't take up all the bottom 4 spots.

They can't be that lucky 2 years in a row.

Confusing determination - and never giving up - with luck has long been a Saints problem.

The last quarter of the PF wasn't luck but I was lucky to have watched it.

Adelaide 4th-8th
Brisbane 8th-12th
Carlton 16th
Collingwood 13-16th
Essendon 9th-12th
Fremantle top 4
Geelong top 4
Hawthorn 13-16th
Kangaroos 3-7th
Melbourne 5-9th
Port Adelaide 9-12th
Richmond 9th!
St Kilda top 6
Sydney 3-8th
West Coast 2-5th
Western Bulldogs 3-7th

I can already see GT replacing Thursday training sessions with specially modified "Luck Dances". Based loosely on the American Indian's "Rain Dance" there is a 70% chance it will increase your "Luck" on Game Day. As long as all the players participate with 100% enthusiasm.

Gee, you're smart!! How long did it take you to work that out?

You people seriously need to rethink your port adelaide predictions. In 2006 port will finish no lower than 8th and you can bookmark this if you want.

Ok, but why? Serious question.

I don't know about the other 15 clubs but I'm willing to bet that Richmond finish 9th. I will even go as far to say that if the AFL introduced a final 16 Richmond would somehow find a way to come 17th.

Adelaide 6-10
Brisbane 6-9
Carlton 14-16
Collingwood 6-10
Essendon 5-8
Fremantle 6-13
Geelong 2-5
Hawthorn 11-16
Kangaroos 4-8
Melbourne 8-10
Port Adelaide 6-11
Richmond 7-11
St.Kilda 1-6
Sydney 3-5
West Coast 1-3
Western Bulldogs 6-10

As Deck has pointed out, nobody seems to look like finishing near the bottom of the table.

So far, we have 4 "real" predictions. Of those four, only Waspy has put forward a ladder with any hope of coming true.

Johnson#26 & Firrito24 have only 2 teams capable of finishing below 12th, and ThommoRoo23 is only marginally better with 3.

Someone has to finish down the bottom of the ladder - who will it be?

Port Adelaide 8-14
Richmond 7-13

Western Bulldogs 2-5

Best and most sensible response so far. phil hawk will be proven correct with his ladder predictor.
