Both of these two provide great value based on their price and proven past performance....however i am reluctant to select both in my squad.

My question is who do you all believe provides better value?

Ladson. If for no other reason, can become a midfield player should one of your mids go down with an injury.

A lot of people are questioning the worth of multi-position players, but in these 50/50 cases it can mean avoiding a donut or wasting a trade.

I'm gonna go the other way and say Hunt due to his kicking skills which were above average before he went down. Whether he still has that impact now is another matter. Still I picked both but I'm expecting Hunt to turn out better but only just.

Even though this probably is worthy of extra disscussion there is a Player X vs Player Y thread this would have been perfect for.

Both can potentially be steals, just keep track of how they go in the NAB cup and practise matches.

Hunt for me....not convinced Ladson is in Hawks best 22 when Ellis, Young, Burgoyne all have to be fit in somewhere when fit...i have no idea about Hawthorn behind closed doors, nor have any interest in them, however i would put Whitecross as a better long term prospect than Ladson and if i were the Hawks, i would have Whitecross ahead of Ladson in the pecking order too...

Player X v Player Y thread maybe?
contribution maybe?

back on topic i cant decide really because ladson had averaged over 90 the 2 years before were as hunt had averaged around 80

and ladson did play 3 games where as hunt was out for the year

and both have been training quite well from training reports

defitnetly a nab cup form decision

Whitecross and Young are both injured/recovering and won't play in the first few rounds. Another reason Ladson is in our 22 is purely experience. People underestimate how young Hawthorn are and Ladson has played over 100 games, one of the few on our list. After last season if he's fit he'll play. I agree with what your saying but perhaps another season away, so Ladson should be right for this season at least IMO. Out of him and Hunt is a coin toss, Hunt potentially better but coming off a worse injury.

I have both ATM. I wouldn't worry about Hunt's return as recos are quite successful these days without affecting athletic ability. Hunt also doesn't rely on athletic attributes so he should return as if nothing has happened. Fairly simplistic view though :p

Did you start this same rumour last year?

Doubt it, though Rainesy did get close to 100 SC in a half in a praccie match and was, I recall, about the most popular player picked, so happy to take the credit/ rap.

On topic, I'd say Ladson has the better upside, whereras Hunt is the more likely to score consistently.
