I would have though we need a quick skilled outside mid AND an inside mid but if we could only get 1 I’d take the quick skilled mid and try and find an inside mid in the draft. They tend to go later so they should be more gettable for us.

Frankly we just have to get a deal done for Kerr. First pick plus O’Brien and another player should do it. I like O’Brien but he’s currency and you have to pay for gun midfielders.

I can’t see why we’d go after a KP back at this point. I’d rather find mids and make the backs job easier while making do with what we have. Subject to trades we have Presti, Brown, O’Brien, Goldsack, Maxwell and Anthony who can play on various tall/tallish opponents. Once we get a premiership midfield we can worry about fine tuning the backline but we won’t win a flag with our existing midfield so that must surely be the priority.

Cousins in draft.

You can’t plan o this because you have no idea how other clubs will draft. If Cousins is right and then if you can pick him up with a reasonable pick it is a bonus but there are 12 clubs with better draft position than us. If you don't end up with Cousins then trading Didak for Kerr achieves little. We'd still be a skilled mid short.

I wouldn't mind Tenace.

Genuine line-breakers with incredible leg speed is what we need. We do not have enough of them. Just Thomas, Leon and maybe Wellingham.

Tenace may have queries on his disposal but he would be alot better than Rhyce.

Also is 23yrs old and could flourish at a new environment because lets face it, he has zero chance of making it at Geelong.

Wouldn't mind clinching him for a 4th or even an exchange of a 3rd rounder with Geelong.

That deal helps no-one.

Eagles need mids or crumbing forwards, and we'd be losing our only A-grade defender.

If he can come back and resemble anything like he was a West Coast, then I'm sure we'll be surprised how good our young midfielders will become

Yes, I hope that outside mid is Ben Cousins. He would have a big impact especially for the young fellas as he works hard on the track and has still got a couple of good years left in him. Andrew Lovett would be a Star under MM's guidance. If we could get either or both it would set us up for a real crack next year and beyond.

Travis Boak? I know his original contract expired at end 2008, but I don't know if he's extended. Wouldn't think twice about giving up our first-round pick, would probably have to throw in a player as well which would require thought.

That pick will be used on Benjamin Cousins.

The popular opinion amongst the print media has been that the club that eventually gets him, will get him for nothing in the PSD. A 2nd rounder is a bad idea, IMHO.

The two key words from what Richardson said are probably 'outside' and 'going hard'. You would think that Benny Cousins is pretty cheap and easy to get so I don't think he would be someone we would be 'going hard' for. It might be a quality young player like Boak or you never know- Dal Santo. On a different note, Stanley must also be pretty highly rated at the club, since we are looking at more outside mids. But maybe they are just saying that
