Various changes, mostly just feature additions. Still can't quite get handballing to self fixed, or I bounce, I bounce, but suddenly its you having a shot for goal ...

Note that I'm putting most relevant stuff now on the Qooty facebook page, as the crappy little website I am using is difficult to upload to.

fantastic! great to hear. did you have to run the Virtual XP mode to do it, or did it just work straight off the bat?

PS: I am currently looking into a program that might enable a better compiling of Qooty, which could mean that yes, even some crap like Vista might run it. No guarantees, its not my forte, but as Rodney Rude says "no experience but I'll have a look at it for ya".

yeah i saw it had worked for someone on Vista a while back ... must've been you. odd, as the QBasic forums (the programming language its written in) are full of people who are still using XP because QBasic just never works for them on Vista. Anyhoo, who's complaining'?!

I went to download the new version last night and it saved as a zip file (which its suppose to) but then had the powerpoint logo next to it and wouldnt let me unzip etc

Hmm so qbasic.zip has powerpoint logo beside? That's an "Association" issue. Hold down shift when right clicking on the icon, hopefully it'll give you "Open with ..." instead of just "Open". Should hopefully be able to to unzip it from one of the options now.

On XP, now when I run it normally by double clicking it comes with an error box saying i don't have the right program associated to run it. Also tried running in dosbox and it saids there is a missing program file in ultis. I tried the autoexe fix just in case and didn't work. http://qooty.isgreat.org/autoexecbug.html

DOSBox is crap ... works for simpler stuff but doesn't support all the commands, Qooty won't run in it.

I'm guessing that your problem, shallow, is possibly that it doesn't know you have DOS installed. Try instlling Dos via OLDDOS.EXE in the Qooty folder. Just in case.

Otherwise, I dunno, maube the AUTOEXEC.NT file you tried has been put in the wrong place? I can never remember where to put this stuff. SYSTEM or SYSTEM32
