To me this is the biggest issue for our forward line problems.

It sh.ts me to tears the amount of time we try and pinpoint a pass to a forward between centre and CHF only for it to be spoiled or the forward to lose their feet. This in itself is not the end of the world, because theory would suggest that it should still then be a 50-50 contest on the ground. However I would conservatively say 75% of the time it is the opposition who sweep it up.

Between centre and CHF forward is such a critical position because good, clean ball there is an excellent opposrtunity to score. Turn it over there and it only takes a quick hanball a bit or run and a long kick to the oppositions forward line, often with our backs out os position.

I think the best lead up player in the AFL is Ashley Hansen. At the moment Stevens or Welsh are probably best we can do for this sort of the role. IS there anyone else?? They at least have a bit of dexterity on the ground, something Perrie and Bock don't have. Also we need to get enough numbers around the contest that should the lead up forward not mark it, we are at least able to win the ball on teh ground 50% of the time.
