I don’t like trolls on here but people who are coming into discuss things in a genuine manner should be welcome. Just because we don’t always like what one person has said on another board or an another issue does not mean we are not able to discuss on this board. We don’t always have to agree and sometime we get fired up but we want to talk here and we don’t need constant derision of opposition supporters coming on this board.

Just on the original article, I'm quite happy. It says to me that Mathews is scared of Goodes being out there, considering how Goodseys carved them up in the past I don't blame him.

Jizza..... You're signature is the funniest ****ing thing I have read all week.:D

"Many players are envious of Adam Goodes for many reasons. We hope that his protected species status ends when he comes over the white line," Matthews said in Brisbane.

Okay. I may be a Brisbane supporter, but what th heck has that got to do with culture and being insensitive of culture.

and I should know......

comments like this are wrong by people who should know better.

I happen to like Goodes, I happen to think he did nothing wrong.
I am off to the game now, and hope its a ripper for both sides, with no injury.

I'm not saying he's racist, I am saying he's culturally insensitive to use the phrase "protected species" in relation to an Aboriginal footballer in light of the history of Aboriginal rights:

Get a grip. Its wrong to use the history of Indigenous Australia to try and make a point on something thats only related to the football field.

It sends the hair on the back of the neck up for those who were abused and stolen that some people try to use it in this context. Please stop.
