Doesn't look too bad at all...definitely shouldn't be bottom 4 material. Apart from a select few clubs, I expect the competition to be quite even next year.

Macca has not announced his intentions yet. He is a 50-50 proposition. Depends whether he was retiring because he would not be much help in a team that would struggle or whether he was retiring because he thought we would be moving into the future. Could still use him out there and with good players around him he could prove the difference in a tight contest.

I dont really think Carlton recruited Harford to hold down CHB.
The sides you have all listed are an improvement on this past season's and Carlton should do slightly better. One thing Carlton are going to be worried about though is the backline especially if McKay retires as it will be very inexperienced.

Move Macca onto the half back line to replace Waite, Waite onto the wing to replace Houla, Houla into the forward pocket to replace Harford, Harford onto the bench and drop Davies out of the 22 to become 1st emergency.

bluemike, as talented as Dicketts seems, i don't think we'll take him...too much of a hassle, and that's saying something with the wildness on our list

If we do though, imagine the image Carlton would have...haha I love it.

-This is also assuming that McKay stays on, which I think is likely now.

I like having Lance at CHB, as lining him up alongside Macca gives our "disastrous" backline some strength.

I think with a few more KG's Angwin could prove a very useful, running CHF, and would make up for Lance's absence there.

Benny, just a couple of questions...

Don't you think Lance is a bit slow to be playing at CHB...can you really see him playing on the likes of Riewoldt, Brown and Tredrea?

Also, we gain more from Whitnall playing at CHF then we do with him at CHB....I think it is a waste if we play him there.

Fair call regarding Dicketts....we've got enough problems already lol

I think we can rotate him from CHF to CHB pretty easily...

I don't think Denis would throw him in at CHB and set up a game plan that relies on Lance's pace...he'd work a way around it.

Maybe rotate Lance to CHF, Angwin to a pocket/flank and Prenda onto the more athletic types?
