Good win but still lot to work on. Defense was still pretty poor. Need to get Williams, Langdon in ASAP.

Midfield got a lot of disposals, but still bad work on clearances. Will need to improve for next week.

Forwards actually okay, converting shots and making leads.

At times we tried to to too much with the ball and be too fancy, need to take the first option more often.

Thoughts?

Cox makes us go straighter by the looks of things

The midfield was pretty good against a very inexperienced opposition
For the first time we went with the opposition when they tried to go wide instead of protecting the corridor and as a result we got a lot of ball on turnovers

Pendles, Adams, Treloar and Sidebottom are a very powerful midfield combination.
Defence still leaked some easy goals, so there is plenty of work to do there.

I'll take a 69 point win everyday no matter how poor the other team is

I am worried about next week for the following reasons:
- We are still getting dominated in the clearances which is a strength of West Coast, particularly with the Nic Nat/Shuey combo.
- If we do get dominated in the clearances against the Eagles i dont think we have the skill by foot in our backline to generate defensive rebounds and cut through their web.

We won by 69, Cox heady debut, Sdebottom was great
What more can you say?

This team has a pulse! Thought they would get up for this one but I thought it would be an ugly grind. Instead we played our best footy for the year and our ball movement and skill at times was ....nice.... which is confusing. Not sure we can take too much out of it though because the Bombers were woeful in the 1st half. 13-8 we are now ahead on ANZAC day clashes. :) Did we miss Clokey???? Great Call:thumbsu:

I know I'm going to get roasted for this, but we lost the second half, and that isn't on. Over 60 minutes of football after half time they were better than us.
The whole point of this thread is an open platform to express opinions while keeping your cool, no roasting will happen. I tend to agree to be honest. We had a spectacular first half but fell off a lot from what could have been a massive victory.

Varcoe gone and we deflate like a souffle. To be honest, players need to get used to each other. Quite a few link ups went missing due to miscommunication & misunderstandings

And if there is one thing we need more of, it is massive victories.

This is so important. I really hope we make few changes next week, hopefully none if Varcoe is OK. Maybe Maynard goes out. But we need consistency.

In the great scheme of things I would let players settle above chosing a different best 22. Even if it means keeping some out. Sorry Broomhead.

I think since at half-time it was something like 90-14 that Bucks probably told them they could slow down. No point over doing it with that much of a thrashing when we got to travel to play the Eagles in 6 days. I think they slowed down for injury sake which isn't a bad decision.

Jarryd Blair.

I don't know what to make of that performance.

Looked a star in the first half (despite his wonky kick at goal), but hardly even touched the ball after that.

We know now he isn't going to get dropped, but how do you guys think we can make the best out of a bad situation?

On the first half performance I'd say he was in our best 8 players, but where did he go?
I made a statement that he looks very good when we are dominating, but goes missing otherwise. Thoughts?

Eventually Blair will be replaced by seir, crocker or rupert. It's inevitable but for the time being I will cheer for Blair every time he puts on the black and white.
