Player Watch Liam McMahon (Delisted 2022)

Interestingly McMahon appears to be the kind of player we’ve been screaming at Hine to take for years; a speculative athletic-enough, tall-enough genuine KP prospect. Already the jungle drums are sounding very positive on him.

Ironically he was a “needs” pick and we didn’t actually rate him best available, but if we’d done that a bit more often over the past 5-10 years, we might not have had to play Goldsack on JJK in 2018.

To be fair we were missing both Dunn and Moore in 2018

No-one could possibly know as the last 2 games have been held in secret and the club tells us nothing. I'm assuming he hasn't lit it up though. No doubt we will get much better info from the VFL game this week with our superstar BF reporters attending.

Damn, saw there had been a bunch of new posts on McMahon and got excited. Then read them and it was about an ex player. I guess we just wait and see on McMahon. Hope he can develop. We need him.

As a forward, I think he has
Much better at the craft - multiple leads, sure hands, accurate kick. Whenever he gets a step on his man he’s very hard to beat.
- and he keeps presenting / provides an option up high on a wing if need be
Clearly his strength size is developing but if he could play 3rd or even 4th forward, he could step into the 1s at some point

I’m hoping to see Kelly as a backman to take over the Roughie role - his length is great for a defender

NcMahon if he has not gone past Kelly as a forward already will certainly have done so by the end of the season.I think the club were lucky there was no football last year as I feel certain we would not have had the chance to draft him otherwise because he definitely would have gone higher than the pick the club got him at.

He is the best prospect for a KPF we have at the club, nice size just needs another 7KGS and he will be ready to go and his kicking is already better than all the forwards we have,a really good prospect and about time we had a change of luck at the draft table.

I think we had some luck being able to draft him where we did but we have to make it pay, I like the fact he practices his goalkicking diligently I do no think he will fix all our problems up forward but he is part of the solution.

Our Non Existent Forward Line does need more then 1 Promising KPF

Prior to the 2020 draft if someone had told me we'd be "going to land a big FF with the initials L.Mc".....I'd have been over the moon!!
And I still am...can't wait to see what our very own L.MAC brings in the future.

The limited vision I’ve had certainly shows he is a big agile forward, agree needs 5-7 more kg before he rips it up!

Looks like they have moved him back. Any danger of ever sticking it out developing a forward. I thought the Buckley era swapping what end the big lads were playing at each year would be done

I get why but I think he’s got great natural-forward skills
