Lids should be AA

looking at a draft of the AA side in todays herald sun, I'd reckon that Lids has had a much better year than both Simon Black or Robert Murphy, both contending for same role in side..

AVG 25 possies a game + 28g is a fair season, he deserves his place

Definitely in very good company, but has had a very good year. Not sure it's quite AA, but I'm sure that time will come.

I've been on this since rnd 17-18,

has had a very consistent season, not often a midfielder averages 25 poss kicks 28 goals and has 20 goal assists. Thats massive output.

will poll about 8-12 brownlow votes i would suggest

All Aust, Tribunal, Grand Final Tickets, Entertainment, Schubeksta, having to listen to Cotton Eye Joe as Tiges warm up, Price of a pie, No kick after the game (except in Bris) blah blah blah!
They get crowds and tv $ cos people love their footy.

Cameron Ling hasn't been named in the AA squad, but I expect Richo will be named in that spot on the wing so a half forward falnk would open up. Lids could sneak a bench spot, but I think more likely he will just miss out.

AA is much like a Rising star nomination.

Consistent achievement is eventually rewarded. He's had a good year, and even if it had been on the back of another good year. I dont think his year was good enough. That said, he's starting to show why he was taken at number 1.

Looking at disposals, Marks, I50s and goals & assists...Lids performance is closer to that of cooney, he's miles ahead of Black...He'll go mighty close

Black shouldnt be in the AA team, and Murphy and Deledio play entirely different positions

Yep, agreed. He's been very very good, but I just reckon there's a long way to go yet. If this was his best year I'd be disappointed.

Certainley deserves his spot, but so do the majority of the other midfielders who were named.

There is absolutley no way Deledio can be named ahead of Bartel, Ablett, Corey or Cooney. Lets be realistic and say that all four have easily been the best midfielders this season.

Then, hes gotta beat Richo, Sam Mitchell, Lenny Hayes etc for the same spot. He CAN do it, i just dont think he will.

If Deledio was in say, a forward category, then i think he would have a far better chance at getting in on a Half Forward Flank.

id prob agree reluctantly to that , I was responding to the side named in this ornings paper that had Black in it which I thought Lids compared quite favourably

If he improves next year you're looking at possibly a 26 touch, 2 goals, 4 clearances, and 15 marks a game player. Average.
