Bonjour messieurs et FAITH,

Everything concerning France's top flight belongs in here. Underrated league - my personal non-English favourite. Montpellier for the win.

Falcao is in his frighteningly best form - 12 goals so far this season.

Finally over his injury - from friends who've done their ACL, physically it takes a year to recover, mentally maybe another year beyond that.

One of the best strikers in the world when up and about

You'd think PSG should be running away with it, but Monaco have done well so far.

Just a matter of time it seems before they eventually slip up and PSG end up 15 points ahead.
You never know, for a team of champions < a champion team.

Marseille looking good early on. Not sure we can win the title, but I'm hopeful we are building a team that can compete with PSG in the coming seasons.

I like that Nantes team. Goes alright.

Heard the manager is a top bloke.

Lille in 18th...

Are they are genuine chance at being relegated? They've been pretty average for a number of seasons now. Would probably be around the equivalent of Everton being relegated from the PL.

One factor going their way is that 18th place is just a playoff now as opposed to auto relegation. They have as much chance of being relegated as the last placed team in Scottish League 2 does, everything's stacked in the 18th team's favour to stay up.

Even then, little chance Lille stays there. Then again, the French league is rather even, so anything can happen.

An exciting matchup tomorrow morning as Lyon host Monaco. Coverage live on Bein sport 3 from 5:45 AEDT.
What a game it was. Nabil Fekir with a 95th minute winner.

Fekir winning goal:

Match Report:
Nabil Fekir was Olympique Lyonnais' matchwinner as they dealt AS Monaco's title defence a major blow with a thrilling 3-2 win over the reigning champions on Friday.

THE MATCH
OL had drawn both of their most recent Ligue 1 Conforama outings 3-3, and the visit of the French title-holders promised to provide a test of their ability to turn their goalscoring prowess into three points.

Bruno Genesio's side were on the front foot from the off. Lucas Tousart's header called Danijel Subasic into action early (6') and Mariano Diaz then charged down a clearance from the Croatia international goalkeeper, who was very fortunate to see the ball ricochet to safety off a post (9').

The hosts capitalised on their good spell soon after. Diaz, who had scored in OL's last two league games and hit the net three times in his last four, was on hand to turn the ball in from close range after Fekir's low cross had found him lurking in the six-yard box (11').

Monaco, who came into the game looking to close the three-point gap to leaders Paris Saint-Germain, wasted little time in replying. Six minutes had gone by when Baldé Keita's magnificent through ball provided Rony Lopes with the chance to equalise (17').

Unbridled

Tanguy Ndombélé's long-range drive that brought a flying stop from Subasic (21') gave a hint of what was to come as Lyon reclaimed the initiative — Fekir, who along with Diaz has been his club's main threat this season, crisply finished off Ferland Mendy's cross (23').

Subasic blocked Kenny Tete's effort (30') while Anthony Lopes denied Adama Traoré at the opposite end (33') before the Monaco man restored parity with a devastating first-time finish from the edge of the box after Rony Lopes had cut the ball back to him (34').

After an unbridled first half, the interval did little to calm the duo's attacking ardours. Traoré should have done much better than shoot wide just after the hour mark (64') while Diaz saw Subasic block with a foot (67') before the former Real Madrid forward again tested the woodwork (72').

Fekir thought he had won it with a minute to go only for the offside flag to go up (89'), but Monaco had no such reprieve when — five minutes into added time — the Lyon captain's free-kick flashed beyond a helpless Subasic (90+5').

THE PLAYER: Nabil Fekir
In a game where attacking players excelled, the Lyon leader was the cream of the crop, scoring two goals, and it might have been more. The decision to give him the captain's armband this season has meant the France international finding a new lease of life, and playing the best football of his career.

THE STAT: 5
All of Fekir's seven goals have come in Lyon's five home games this season.

I have nothing against OL, but that's a shit result for the league IMO.
Agree. Falcao's absence was felt big time by Monaco.

Hopefully Marseille take the 3 points at Strasbourg to keep a bank of 2 heavyweights within touching distance of Paris.

Nice just got beaten 5-0 at home against Lyon.

They are basketcase this season.
Actually near the relegation zone.
