The thing is - I would call myself an ardent supporter of Jong, but I put myself on the "he's depth, or perhaps a bit better" category. Others who don't rate him at all would put him at "he's depth, but maybe a bit worse". But the fact that people view him either side of depth leads to some healthy debate and opinion as to the extent as to which he is more or less than simply depth. That's fine. There's a consensus that he's depth and literally nobody execpt yourself offers up an opinion that is past the boundaries of those two categories, and therefore that gets questioned. Hypothesised.

I would equally question any poster who offered such an extreme view of any one player. If any poster, without supporting evidence and through antagonistic language use and posting (the equivalent of use of terms like "potato" and quoting entire, well thought out posts simply with "HAHAHA") thought that Brad Lynch was the greatest thing since sliced bread and should have played every game this year, I'd equally question the logic behind such a barrage of posts, and the motivating factor behind an opinion that is such an extreme against the consensus. If that poster didn't offer up any logic behind their extreme outlier view against the consensus, I'd then hypothesise to the motivating factor behind such a view. As Jong is Asian and racism does exist in Australia and a football context, it's a fair hypothesis behind such an extreme viewpoint. It's not an accusation.

Yeah right MD, every player in a GF team is a champion. I remember Shane Ellen kicked 5 goals for Adelaide in the 97 GF, lucky he was a champion. Jong was in our top 5 in our final last year.

What you don't seem to understand is a team is made up of many individuals who gel together as a team. They don't all need to be stars, look at Hawthorn and some of their recycled players. They all had a role and the played well together. Jong is not going to be the reason why or why we don't make a GF. If you can't see that your not much of a footy observer.
