Rushed behind becomes a goal to Cornelius, and Browndog has made Stichface get the ball. Ordinary effort Browndog. 19.13 to 7.5

If Charman cant get 50 hitouts and dominate around the ground against this side he will be lucky to get back in. Do we have any other ruckmen playing or are they all still injured?

I would not select Charman based on this. Plenty of taps but has not dominated. Banfield goals, 21.13 to 7.5. Opening minutes last term.

Charman marks in the goal square. Goals. Luckily for Stichface the net stops the ball. Equal opportunity hey TBD. Cornelius goals again, he could be something special. 22.13 to 7.5

It seems like Cornelius is dominating and I have noticed him mentioned in the best before. It's interesting that after the draft, he was rated as one of the "bargain picks". It'll be great if we've picked up a future replacement for Bradshaw with pick #52 or whatever it was....

Ouch.

I am no media whore, so remaining anonymous is still am option.:D

Aspley are poo to answer the earlier question about where they sit in the QAFL tree.

Liked the look af Rockliff, plenty of footy smarts.

Chez's handballing skill to umpires > CtD's social skills to fellow BF members.

F*** you CtD :(

Oooohhhh, someone unhappy. A little aggressive there big fella.

Just be thankful you were not made to go and get the ball.:D

Harden up sunshine;)

Many thanks for the updates and photos CtD, not to mention the ‘social commentaries’, was last months election considered null and void? Lots of mud slinging going on here… hahahahaha… :D

A comprehensive team performance helped the Brisbane Lions to rout Aspley by 108 points in their QAFL Velocity Sports Cup clash at Coorparoo tonight.

The Lions did not have a non-contributor as they withstood a feisty opening by the Hornets and then accelerated away with each quarter to win 25.16 (162)-8.6 (54).
With ruckman Jamie Charman and skilful utility Jared Brenan in their midst, the Lions were always going to be hard to beat, but every player was at the top of his game.
Matt Austin was lively early with two first quarter goals and James Polkinghorne took a number of strong contested marks as the Lions led 2.3-0.0 inside five minutes of play starting.
However, Lucas Matthews continued his excellent form from last week and got some key touches as the Hornets hit the front with their fourth goal 17 minutes into the term.
The Lions steadied with three late goals, with Tom Collier setting up wave of attacks from defence, and it was academic from there.
Polkinghorne continued to provide an avenue to goal all night and finished with four majors, as did Austin, while Lachlan Henderson was another reliable target and kicked three goals.
First year draftee Todd Banfield was dynamic at half-back and provided great run and drive and was his side’s most consistently good player over four quarters.
Charman was energetic and aggressive and particularly effective in the first and final terms, although young rivals David Hill and Dylan Reid never took a backward step.
Reid took some nice marks around the ground and was one of his side’s better players.
Todd Panaho gave his side plenty of grunt and ran hard to provide an option, although his night was soured by being reported for making front on contact on Austin in the second term.
The Lions were much slicker with their touch, although Brent Evans stood firm alongside Matthews in the clinches and the lightly framed teenager Trent Manzone did some good things for his side.
Ben Weightman kicked two outstanding goals in the first term but the opportunities dried up thereafter and so did his influence.
Brennan played his first game in six weeks after tearing a quadriceps muscle during the pre-season. He booted 2.2 in the opening term and picked up some quality touches in the midfield later in the game before taking an early shower halfway through the third quarter.
Scores:
Brisbane Lions, 7.5, 14.9, 19.12, 25.16 (162)
Aspley Hornets, 4.0, 5.4, 7.5, 8.6 (54)
Goals, Brisbane: Polkinghorne 4, Austin 4, Henderson 3, Cornelius 3, Harding 2, Murphy 2, Brennan 2, Tyler, Banfield, Charman, Hanly, McIvor. Aspley: Weightman 2, Manzone 2, T Panaho, Walker, Tapp, Dzufer.
Best, Brisbane: Polkinghorne, Banfield, Henderson, Austin, Brennan, Charman. Aspley: Matthews, B Evans, T Panaho, Reid, Campbell, Copeland.

Does anyone know if the McIvor who kicked a goal is related to Scott McIvor?
