List Mgmt. List Analysis

[Borderline]

I think it's apparent to most people that we need to make some pretty significant changes to our list if we want to actually contend for a premiership next season. I thought I would go through our list and give my thoughts on what we should do for each player this off season. Feel free to criticise it and add your own.

1 Ballantyne, Hayden - Keep
2 Morabito, Anthony - Keep, 1 more year, another serious injury and we have a tough call to make
3 Dawson, Zac - Keep
4 Sylvia, Colin - Gone
5 Ibbotson, Garrick - Keep
6 Pearce, Danyle - Keep, although consider phasing him out in favour of a young gun
7 Fyfe, Nathan - Keep
8 Suban, Nicholas - Try to trade
9 De Boer, Matthew - Try to trade
10 Walters, Michael - Keep
11 Sheridan, Thomas - Keep
12 Griffin, Jonathon - Keep
13 Mzungu, Tendai - Try to trade
14 Weller, Lachlan - Keep
15 Crowley, Ryan - Delist/Retire
16 Mundy, David - Keep
17 Crozier, Hayden - Probably keep but if the price is right I would consider trading, has some currency compared to others
18 McPharlin, Luke - Retire
19 Blakely, Connor - Keep
20 Taberner, Matthew - Keep
21 Barlow, Michael - Probably keep, but again I would consider trading him for the right price, he isn't getting a run in the middle where he is at his best and is only average at best as a half forward, isn't going to get any better, would have currency.
22 Smith, Tanner - Delist, looks like a rabbit in the headlights and skills are poor, doesn't even stand out at WAFL level IMO.
23 Mayne, Christopher - Try to trade, would probably have some currency
24 Duffy, Max - Think he's worth one more year but would not be surprised if he's delisted
25 Pearce, Alex - Keep
26 Langdon, Ed - Keep
27 Neale, Lachie - Keep
28 Grey, Brady - Keep
29 Pavlich, Matthew - His decision, but if he plays on we have to get another KPF, will not be able to play 22 games and can't be our only hope up forward. Suspect he will retire though.
30 Clarke, Zachary - Try to trade, will have some currency, not many ruckmen with his experience going around on the trade table.
31 Sandilands, Aaron - Keep
32 Hill, Stephen - Keep
33 Sutcliffe, Cameron - Keep
34 Spurr, Lee - Keep
35 Apeness, Michael - Probably keep, injured this season, not sure how his development is coming along - regular Peel watchers help me out here!
36 Silvagni, Alex - Keep, 1 more year, back up player at best and hopefully we can trade him at the end of 2016 if A Pearce takes the next step.
37 Johnson, Michael - Keep
38 Hannath, Jack - Keep, 1 more year, big year for him, if he doesn't break into the seniors delist him.
39 Deluca-Cardillo, Joshua - Haven't seen him play so I'll say keep. Peel regulars again help please!
40 Moller, Craig - Delist, he's been on the list for 3 or 4 seasons now, shows some glimpses at WAFL level but I don't think he's going to cut it.
41 Duffield, Paul - Delist/Retire
42 Hughes, Ethan - Keep
43 Vandeleur, Thomas -Delist, very average footballer, he makes a lot of mistakes even at WAFL level, didn't get a call up for the Port game despite being fit either.
44 Ballard, Jacob - Keep
45 Hurley, Sean - Keep, looks really good for Peel, has a lovely kick for a convert, really excited about him!
46 Pearce, Clancee - Consider trading, good depth player but nothing more, would keep over MdB and Mzungu though.

Purely because Hannath has played a bit of AFL, Moller will do some really nice stuff but he's a bit of a space cadet. I don't think either of them are going to cut it as regular AFL players though. I'm pretty impartial though, if they go the other way I won't be overly surprised.

Agree with most of it. The worry is that Suban, Deboer, Mzungu etc won't have enough currency to trade but even if we can't get something for them they desperately need to be phased out for the younger classier guys. Agree with you that if trading Barlow can get us Bennel/Mccarthy I'd do it. Don't know why he isn't being played in the middle but as long as he isn't and Blakely continues to knock on the door it might be worth trying to get something for him.

Vandeleur has shown enough improvement to be given another year IMO.
