Derickx and Nahas Gone
Verrier, gone from rookie list, possibly re-rookie if theres no better options, lonergan might have bought himself another year with recent form.
Tuck and Orren possible retirees

Wouldn't be suprised to see minimal changes, Griff, O'Hanlon and Helbig all stay

We will keep 38 on the main list including vets IMO. Save the salary cap and give us squad flexibility and make rookies hungry. Fair chance we only take minimal picks. I struggle to find more than 35-40 players this draft I'd consider drafting and at least 11-12 will be gone and if we get Adams odds are 20-25 or so will be gone by our first pick. :p

I dont understand what you mean by only 38 on the main list ??
We have 4 players eligable for the vets list that will save us $450,000 of salary cap space and with the only certain delistings being so far Nahas & Derickx we need to delist and select min 3 players

This year we had 38 main list and 6 rookies. Rather than 39 & 5 or 40 & 4. Newman is already a vet and saving salary. Tuck may retire. And no one else is eligible. One of Edwards or McGuane will go IMO so they don't hold back development of a kid like McBean/Elton. I keep changing my mind on this one. Currently got McGuane staying unless he decides to leave.

Im pretty sure Newman wasnt Vet listed last year

Tuck should be offered another year and persuaded to stay, he is still good value and would only be on about $150k whick $112 is covered in the vets allowance costing us $38k of cap space

I would offer both White & McGuane 1 year contracts on $100-$150 py and dont believe they will get any other offers to move and edwards is contracted for another year

Jackson,Foley,Newman,Tuck are all eligable for vets list this year,The minimum age requirment has been removed and only the 10 year rule applies which all meet this criteria and $112,500 of each player is reduced off our TPP

There's no such thing as a vet list anymore. You are just a veteran or not a veteran. So Newman is already one of those.

Didn't realise they scrapped the age requirement. I still don't think we will list more than 38 on the main list. Save money that way too.

We keep persuading Tuck to stay. Only so long we can do that. I don't believe he's best 22 anymore anyway as much as I love the way he goes about it.

Edwards I'm told is only on a 1 year deal.

I called it the veterans list but thats not exactly what i meant (my bad)

What i was trying to say is that we would struggle to delist 4-5 players without cutting players that should still be given another year like helbig,Griffiths,Dea and i believe even though i dont like mcguane he has been serviceable this year and white certainly deserves another year.

Verrier, darrou, stephenson.Lonergan are more expendable and would be / should be delisted rather than the others so we can continue to have the influx of the youth coming through

What McGuane, white, tuck (all will be on less that 150k) also provide is cheap depth regarding cash which we can use to tie up players like Martin,Conca,Ellis,Vlastuin whilst also providing reasonable quality depth

Based on 2013 performances and with the makeup of our side , I believe this would be the best result

Need:

More quality midfield depth (especially good ball users)

Better quality ruck depth

More outside pace

At least one more genuine KPD. (Chaplin goes down we're ****ed)

Prefer to get small mids who can play forward instead of specialist small forwards.

I've noticed the D-Rex has been named in the bests over the last few weeks for the 'burgers - I believe this is a result of him playing more time as the main ruck? Interesting to see if the powers that be see anything in him, or at least enough to keep him on as a rookie?

Lonergan too has hit form at the pointy end of the season. If he's happy to remain a rookie, I'd keep him around.

You'd think Nahas has had his papers stamped. Griff, Helbig, Dea, Batch and Arnott are the interesting ones for mine. Have all showed glimpses over their brief forays into the firsts, without really stamping their mark on a position... Some tough discussions to be made!
