Pies at end of 2009 have gained:
Jolly, Ball, Sinclair, JThomas, SBuckley, Hunter*, Carter*, McNamara*
In doing so, we also have gained:
- a greater centre square presence
- Pendlebury away from extraction duties back to offensive ruckrover
- three extra cameo tall forward threats - Rusling, Fraser & Jolly
- some KPD and KPF stocks in Carter and McNamara
- Hunter may in time release Thomas from defensive HF duties and give us a more offensive Thomas again - he does afterall win games off his own boot - I recall two but others may recall more?
- our youngster mids (eg Beams, Sidey, Wellers) are a year stronger again
- our remaining list gaps have been BP and tagger. Hunter's speed and aggro may fill any of them, and we still have Rounds, Francis, Barham to grow into them as well. Sewell must have been a big temptation to take as an older run-with, so our existing youngsters will need to step up to the plate.
List looking very good thankfully, as only cherry-picking will help in the next few years. Or do you still see major 'gaps' rather than 'rooms for improvement'?
