7 games in 4 years would be a no for me.
Port tend to go for those types unfortunately because they believe by some act of sorcery they will be better players at Port.
No more recycled strugglers, clean the list, bring in quality youth and rebuild properly.

The georgiades talk has blindsided me a bit, I thought he was pretty safe because he is developing really nicely here and is a good fit for us.

I don’t understand these players that are playing well, getting paid or going to get paid handsomely wanting to leave.

I can understand those wanting more opportunities, more money, or chasing a flag later in your career but this go home stuff is so annoying.

I know we got JHF via this but he was unhappy right from the get go and should’ve never been drafted by norf.

I thought guys like butters and George seemed happy and playing good footy. It’s pissing me off.
Is there actually MG talk? I may have missed it but all I’ve seen is Twomey saying ‘These 3 WA players are RFA’s next year and West Coast will likely chase a couple’.

Literally no different than any other year. MG I would do everything to keep, Butters I’m pretty sure is gone so it’s about maximising value and if Bergman is planning to go home end of his contract you put the feelers out and see if you can get more (not likely) than the compo pick for him would be.

To me the idea of what Bergman can be is more than what Bergman actually is and I like him as a player.

mainly Chad Cornes, hopefully just stirring shit because he is pissed off about being sacked and is also playing it up for attention on his new radio gig.

But he is really confident he won't be here in 2028.

Is he? Or is he just saying shit to get attention?

Chad in the media is just Kane in the media without the success.

I was watching Sinn's pre-draft video a couple nights ago, I can see why we were seduced. I know he came as a flanker but he looked like he had genuine midfield traits. His body has been a let down, I doubt he'll ever be able to become a midfielder because of it, or even regular 23 in defence because of injury, disappointing.

Does flanker still have a negative connotation?

Flankers, in particular HBF, is one of the most important roles in the modern game.
I would be keen to recruit the neo hbf , which is in the form of your Weddle types. These taller 192cm +, athletic , hard runners, long kickers are the way to go. They can play on smalls but can provide support to cover talls. Hawthorn with Weddle and Scrimshaw are a good example.

Jed Walter should be someone WC should be targeting with their list profile. A young athletic key forward who could be part of their next premiership tilt over Georgiades since by the time, they are competitive again, it could be too late by then.
Jed Walter should be someone we are targeting with our list profile. Him, Georgiades and Whitlock moving forward. Lukosious on the wing, Dougie Cochrane on the other wing, or mid, or intercepting half back. Pilot could play anywhere. It gives us a very powerful and versatile set of talls across the whole ground.

I am going to be watching these two players with great interest for the MSD.
  • Josh Tovey (Mid). Ideal replacement for Wines. Brodie is just a stop-gap and depth.
  • Bryce Sanders. Looks like a KPD and seems to be getting the ball which is a nice bonus at reserves level.
And which out of the rucks listed has the most upside and has a good leap?
1. Caleb May
2. Alex Van Wyk
3. Marcus Krasnadamskis

Also how is that Bennier guy tracking?

Looks like the other BOB is playing a role at half back for North’s reserve side. Had a big game last week (29 disposals, 27 of those were kicks, 7 rebound 50’s).

Cheers. Guess he is off the list for now. Need more players in other positions than half-back.

Sounds like you just described Josh Lai

Yea if only we had someone like that in our team….

Heres hoping, guys like him and Evans are more of the taller modern type , but are still sub 190cm. If we are looking to recruit Id be looking taller in the 192 +cm range, guys like Weddle even Josh Worrel as another example really suit the modern game.

Jedd Busslinger was drafted in 2022 (at pick 13) after being in the U/18 All Australian team. his first year in the AFL was 2023 (so 3 years of AFL)
in 2025 he was part of the Bulldogs VFL premiership side
he might be worth a deeper look

If Dodson is cheap and won't cost a lot, I would entertain it but at the moment, we desperately need another ruck ASAP because if either Sweet or Visentini or even both are gone, Port are screwed.

As for Isaac Keeler, I don't see much in him based on the games I have seen of him and honestly, I would rather just play Whitlock as the relief.

Jedd Busslinger is someone I would only take a look as a potential DFA. 1st rounder and only 7 games in four seasons and those 7 games came last season. Something is off about that especially if the Dogs prefer playing O'Donnell over Busslinger.
Jedd Busslinger might be worth a better look at the end of the year especially if the Bulldogs go deep into the finals

in his 3 years of AFL he has already got a VFL Premiership to his name (last year with the Dogs) ..

Remember he is still young and the dogs could be developing him (hence why he has played 7 games so far )

You might be right it’s just the 7 games in 4 years that’s concerning.
It’s not like he’s trying to break into the Brisbane side.
These sort of players that sit on a list normally don’t pay off as we have done this before.

just checked ... it is 7 games in 3 years

I also found this

Career Development
: Busslinger spent his initial seasons developing in the VFL while recovering from shoulder surgery and building the physical size required to match senior forwards

this would explain while it took a while for him to Debut (for being a top 15 drafted player in 2022)

Showed enough when he did play.

Don’t think the Dogs are putting him on the table.

Won't be on the table because he'll be delisted

Harrison Ramm off 1 pre-season is a better player than Busslinger

Glowing reviews of his work over on the Bulldogs board

Cal Twomey on Gettable reporting that he expects Port to show interest in Tom Sparrow and Kade Chandler as free agents this year but seems unlikely.

Says he expects Port to go for Zac Bailey using the money that they allocated for Butters. Its interesting that he's said this because it must have come from a player agent or the club themself.

Cal reporting on Gettable that we’re into Kade Chandler, Tom Sparrow and Zac Bailey (when Butters confirmed gone). Also threw Lachie Neale’s name in there as a bit of a throwaway name for Adelaide’s targets but surely we’d have to have a ping at the the stumps

Not sure about first two , but I'm ok with a crack at Zac Bailey, yes he's 27 , but with Butters gone potentially , we will have plenty of cap space unspent and we get him for free as the Lions are maxed out. Also we will need to have valuable experience to guide the big influx of kids coming in. He could play to 34 as he seems pretty resilent. Also the thought of him going to the crows as there missing piece is sickening.

Proviso is , we first use our freed cap space to lock up Mitch and others if possible.
