Well given he's a Kiwi by birth and his family moved to a dairy farm near Portland in South West Victoria when he was a youngster and still reside there that makes Geelong long odds on favourites.
Going to be one hell of a stacked Geelong side next year :)
Given the coach has 3 jobs now, you have to wonder how many extra jobs the players have...

Mods, two questions:
1. Who was the soft**** that changed the thread title and removed the 'Mis"
2. With the monumentally stupid decision to gift Milera another 3 years why hasn't the 'Mis' been reinstated.
It’s a bad decision, but it’s weird that you care about this

Weird. Presently no obviously viable replacement for ROB and we’re miles apart. Could comfortably replace Milera with half a dozen players off half back and he’s been locked in for 3. ROB must be asking for TDK style contract.

Milera on minimum chips for 3 years is better than a ROB on way overs.

Milera playing clearly below his potential. Can he be taking up that much cap space in a new contract? A bit on an each way bet. If he gets his body up to AFL pace it's money for old rope.... if he stays marginal I can see him relegated to depth. If he's taking significant cap space then Reid can let the door hit him twice on the way out.

If ROB is asking TDK type money it would explain his recent uptick in performance. But I would rate this "new vein of form" as a baseline expected kpi for a 1st ruck on an average 1st ruck salary.

I am on the fence about Reid. In the Don Pyke era he made lots of dumb moves ... hopefully rookie errors which he's learned from.... But Dawson, Rankine and the ANB, Peatling and Cummins deals range from spectacular wins to shrewd list management....

Happy not to pass judgement just yet on either move. But for mine, there is still a lot to make up for, for previous sins. So some side-eye is being cast his way.

You’d think we have a replacement lined up, plus ROB is on 5AA, so he’s gone for sure

Someone posted a couple of hours ago that the “minimum chips” wouldn’t be far away. Well done.

How do you know he’s on minimum chips or is that the story you tell yourself so you can support another club decision?

3 year extension for a bloke that will be 28 by the end of the year and has 1 career season with 20+ games and his best season (by far) was in 2018.

Hope they let ROB walk and he gets a fat contract elsewhere and our compo is great.
Can’t see that happening. He’ll end up signing here like crouch did.

I heard a rumour that the AFC have privately decided to follow bigfooty from 1st July and implement all their decisions as clearly some on Bigfooty know best.

I heard a rumour that if you work for the AFC - you cannot make a bad decision or be bad at your job.

Anybody questioning the brilliant brains employed by the AFC is clearly an idiot. How could anyone think to criticize a club that has failed to make finals over the past 7 years. I mean only 44.4% of clubs each year make the finals so its pretty tough to do.
