He’s in contract

Not really
Our first rounder would be 15 onwards

So effectively say 15 and 34 for Powell
What's his point of difference to what we already have, bearing in mind we still have the virtually untried Sid Draper and Charlie Edwards who to all intents and purpose we drafted as a midfielder/forward/ They both have points of difference to what we're running with at present.

You can’t have too many good midfield options

Adding to our current rotations would be a huge positive

Actually giving Draper and Edwards a run in the roles they were drafted playing would be a huge positive too, hell Edwards has played almost all of this season across half back.

The real piss is being taken in this article on AFL website regarding Sam Draper …

“The irony is a footy-mad city, which Draper would get by staying at Essendon or heading back to South Australia to join Adelaide, would be the better fit for his growing off-field presence. The Crows have long been linked as a suitor and where he would take over Taylor Walker's presence as the club's big man and big name.”

What the actual @$&! ??

Well if you asked that "footy journo" to name 10 current Adelaide players, he'd probably get to the 6th or 7th spot before he said "McLeod" or "Ricuttio"

The guy is an absolute battler. Is this just regurgitating statements from his agent?

He may never be able to play at a top standard again, ffs.

We've apparently asked the question to Fremantle about Sean Darcy. Essendon and Geelong also rumoured to be targeting him. Would probably fit our age profile (he'd be 27 next year), but would cost a bit to get over.

Overall sounds like we're looking under every rock available before we recommit to ROB though.

Fair career right age profile

Or are we genuinely recommitting and its all a smoke screen

Sean Darcy would be handy. I’d be worried about injuries…..

Tbh McAndrew might end up as that, yet
McAndrew's already that to my eye.

Strachan has to be done season's end.

And unless we see Toby Murray as at least a decent chop out I'd still like to have a youngster developing behind whoever is our 2026 lead ruck and McAndrew.

Caroline Wilson reporting NWM doesn’t want to play for us due to the Tex racism incident. Assuming she’s heard it from her sources.

Here's the clip.

It's a shame. Perhaps Rankine and Milera reach out to him (although there's obviously no obligation on them to do so). But given this, it's probably best to move on to other targets and hope he stays at the Saints.

No idea if there is any truth to the story, the NWM camp would never admit it if there was but it seems unlikely.

Having said that I have to say I didn't have a great feeling about that interview at the time but thought it was more McGuire and his questioning.

I don't think anyone ever thought NWM was coming to us. It was always going to be Port if he wanted to come home.
