I seriously doubt Keane is heading back to Ireland anytime soon, there is no way he can earn anything like the money he's currently guaranteed playing AFL. More chance he field offers from other AFL clubs than heading back to Ireland until his AFL playing days are done.

Realistically look at Steele last year vs Dunkley. Same size, similar stats. Yes Steele is 30 but I think he could be a really solid defensive minded mid for us, especially with Rankine in there who isn’t very defensive focused. He would cost us nothing, plus omfg finally an experienced pure mid to help the kids like Curtin, Edward’s, whoever we draft (hopefully greaves) develop !!!! I’m all in for the right price, he won’t cost much!

Pink is a downgrade on Jordan Butts who at this stage has shown no interest in being traded despite there being strong rumours of him being courted by several clubs. Unless this changes anytime soon I don't see the point personally. Is there any talk at all of Pink having any interest from other clubs I'm not aware of? Therein lays the story.

Yes, Pink is a downgrade on Butts.

The trade is really Butts for Powell, with Pink as steak knives to give us some depth, which is what people seem to fear losing if Butts goes.

I think trading a depth player (which I actually don't think Butts should be) for a first 18 player is a good deal if you can do it.

If we had/have interest in Powell I'd be fairly confident we'd rattle his chain.

Decent enough player but again not a game breaker.

At least we are having a crack at game breakers like Petracca, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Dustin Martin, Jeremy Cameron, Izak Rankine etc.
