Do we have a spot available in the mid-season draft? Any interest in Tom Scully from West?

We have one spot, having declined to fill it in the SSP after passing on both McGuane and Foot.

Presumption has been that we'll take Tom Bell in the MSD provided no one else does first, since he was ineligible to be taken in the SSP, but who knows for sure.

I'm not sure if Scully should be the target? It adds to the Maley/TMurray logjam - unless we feel he's vastly better?

I like Mutineer's suggestion of Fahey, or maybe even Jack Cook.

Doubt it after bringing in Maley and upgrading Toby Murray just recently and drafting Ludowyke last season. Then there's Welsh and Marsh though a tad shorter were drafted as Forwards
I think if we're looking at a MSD aspirant I'd hope it would be a metres gained attacking running medium defender or perhaps a speedy agile small pressure forward.

Open to that, if there's a talent there though that we project we would like in the draft anyway and another club wants them you take them.

Not so sure about Bell on what I've seen in the SANFL so far, would want to lift a fair bit on his efforts thus far before I'd be real interested. You don't need to take a player in the MSD so unless there is someone that really suits our current needs and we see as having a future we just keep the spot open. If anyone from the SANFL squad was to get a shot at this point Blake Drury should be a fair way in front of Bell on performance IMO.

When the Crows played WWT a few weeks ago, Sauce made mention at the presentations that he feared Drury the most and put a tag on him. That's a compliment of how other coaches rate him.

The list chould have been better, considering some bad high draft recruits and the Gibbs deal.

The player chooses which length of contract they’ll accept (6 or 18 months) when they nominate for the MSD.

Charlie was drafted as a midfielder according to Hamish so why are top ups played in the midfield at SANFL level ahead of lads drafted as mids where they can further hone their midfield skills. Especially given our midfield has been considered a weakness in our AFL team?

I'd also like to know why SANFL top ups are given the same jumper numbers as AFL listed players.

We gave the number 2 jumper to Ned Atkinson, which says loud and clear Ben Keays has a golden ticket and won't play SANFL

Hugh Haysman as the same number as Soligo who actually did play SANFL!
