Longer he spends in the SANFL??

**** me, we're all about the immediate titillation. He has consistently been the best amongst his age group, and he's had a few injuries last year and this. He's EIGHTEEN MONTHS into his career, and a bloody kid.

Christ, people need to relax.
If he's not best 23 at the start of next season he won't make it

I think Lachie Neale played 11 and 12 games in his first two years. A full season in his 3rd year.

Sid is behind these numbers but given his injury problems, I'm not worried yet on his talent, just his body.

Don't know other Crows SANFL watchers thoughts on Tom Bell, admitedly I didn't watch the game on the weekend one of the very very few I've missed since the SANFL digital pass became available but for mine he's not shown anything that comes close to screaming pick me so I'd definitely pass at this point.

Injury-hit Eagles among handful of clubs circling SANFL star in mid-season draft

A strong start to his season has Tom Bell on the radar of a number of clubs

SANFL defender Tom Bell has landed on the radar of clubs ahead of the AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, with Waalitj Marawar among the teams tracking the WA tall after a strong start to the season.

A 197cm backman who was overlooked in the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft, Bell has reignited his AFL chances after moving to South Australia at the end of last season and completing an AFL pre-season with Kuwarna.

He was picked up by the Crows as a SANFL talent development player, allowing him to represent the club at state-league level but also spend the summer with the AFL squad while not being listed.

The Crows were impressed with the 20-year-old's pre-season training on their key forwards, with the wiry defender adding 3-4kg to his frame and showcasing his agility and speed off the mark while part of the AFL program.
Bell has impressed at the Crows this season with his ability to scrap and compete and hold his own on the opposition's tall forwards, while also contributing as a rebounding option and taking kick-ins.

The young tall didn't play any football in 2023 after focusing on competitive BMX riding, but he returned to the game in 2024 and improved rapidly, representing WA at under-18s level.

Overlooked as a Draft prospect, Bell played with South Fremantle in 2025 but found himself unable to push past the club's senior key defenders at league level.

The Crows identified him as a potential AFL prospect, offering him the chance to develop at SANFL level and complete a preseason with their senior team in 2026.

I think we'll pass anyway.

We save some money as well as making it easier for the list manager at the end of the year.

Surprised we don't go 4-5 players short on the list TBH.

Either pass or re-rookieing. That's what we use rookie picks for.

I’d say Draper worth at this stage hasn’t justified a top 5 pick. Not sure many clubs would part with a top 10 pick for him at this stage. Still early days tho

Well I did see a ranking chart prior to his draft that had him going around 7th or 8th. So there is every possibility we jumped at a top SA prospect rather than doing our due diligence as to whether he was the best choice and simply overpaid.

Signs arent great here for now. Is it too early to be worried...kind of. He was supposed to be ready to play.

Would a side give us a top 10 pick..nope, we might be lucky to get a first rounder.

Definitely had some interruptions but today is game six of SANFL this year and we are a third of the way through the AFL season. There should be a time soon where he starts to put pressure on selection.

For the record, Id just play him. We are not going far with the current midfield so may as well give him a go. Has to be a block of games as well.

I think he will end up being a good AFL player but not sure he will reach the heights that some were hoping
I'd bring him in straight after the bye.

It's been widely picked up by the media that he's looking around - every club in the comp has supposedly spoken to him, but our name hasn't been mentioned at all.
Really no surprise we'd throw out hat in the ring given we had big interest in his draft year.

Fox Footy's Will Faulkner.

Foxfooty.com.au can reveal the 20-year-old, already one of the league’s most sought-after out-of-contract players, is on the radar of last year’s minor premiers.”

Is Faulkner the one who has been proven wrong multiple times (NWM, Trac) reporting Crows’ chances?

Don't know sorry.

ALL he really said was we along with other clubs have interest which is really no surprise because as we know he was top of our infamous whiteboard until Dan Curtin became a big chance. I also had mail which I shared with a couple of our keen draft watchers on our board weeks out from the draft both Darcy and his father Mick thought the Crows were his most likely suitors.....confirmed draft night on our whiteboard.

I think Will has good access into the club to know about our intentions. He's about the only open Crows supporter in the media.

Of course, our interest isn't the same as whether we will get the player, but good to know we're doing what we can.

Not quite the same motivation.

I doubt Brisbane have the ability to match under their cap .
They would already know how much compensation they’re getting . It’s guaranteed to be tier 1 compensation.

If they can’t match, then they won’t. That’s the blowing out of the water’ part. And who knows how much space they have. They’d have a decent amount set aside for Bailey plus 2 more years of Neale. Other options are to back end contracts whilst you’re in a window and worst case is a Collingwood fire sale in 3-4 years. But who cares if you’ve snagged 2 more flags and Pues won one 2 years later anyway.

Anyway, it’s really no different to us and Crouch/Danger. Compo for them will be pick around 16, if they’re confident of a decent amount more at trade, they’ll work out a way to match.
