Prestia and Broad retire; delist Smith, Fawcett, Ralphsmith, probably delist Tresize, payout Ryan’s last year, rookie Judson Clarke.

I think Tresize is coming along okay.

IMO we should give Sonsie a stint in the midfield and if he doesn't perform delist him. The way he interprets his current role isn't ever going to work, but he has easily enough talent that we should try him in the only position he can play.

Hotton is injury-prone, Jonty Faull not convinced when we look at Jobe Shanahan and Trainor is okay more of a broad than a rance/grimes type.

Hotton has had one single new injury since we recruited him and played 7 fantastic games consecutively to finish last year.

Faull is going as well as Shanahan all things considered and is a lot more competitive.

Bolton is a gun but we knew that, that is why we got such good picks for him.

To take Murphy Reid we are leaving Hotton on the table. There is no reason to think Hotton is not a great pick.

Nah, in the weeks post Eagles game before his concussion, Jonty looked much better than Jobe.

Trezise just doesn't ahve any standout AFL traits. I'd rather bring Brown in and move Trainor into Trezise's role.

And if Trainor keeps playing like today? RN Tresize is playing much better football and he's only 23, I agree they should probably be competing for the same spot but both should be on the list and let form dictate. I don't trust Trainor (or Gibcus) enough atm to delist their backup.

Yeah it's a crazy overreaction.

People are just seeing Reid playing a star team and acting like we've failed with everyone.

Other than him, and Shanahan who has looked amazing (still only 3 goals in 3 games) nobody else is having a profound impact on their team yet.

Clubs miss players all the time. Freo would've taken Berry and Bo Allan over Reid, but got lucky they were taken. We weren't the only club that missed these guys. Lalor looks a star. Taj looks great. Smillie we haven't seen. Faul is just being let down from his kicking. Trainor showing good sides. Armstrong been decent, but still very young.

Not all of them are going to make it.

For us to overlook him 4 times & Sullivan Robey twice makes me want to vomit.

Answer me this, why in the name of Christ would we even consider Trainor when we had Brown, Banks, Trezise, all on the list doing the same weak mediocre things in the backline?

How many years has Brown been there now & he still looks like he’s only just hit puberty.. Can just about guarantee Trainor will be the same, will not bulk up at all. So what are we left with? Not strong, not quick, average skills, no killer instinct….. just your feeble 15 touches a game with zero impact. We just love these types.
They are all great at the safe 15m chip kick.

Lalor was an absolute lay up. I’ve said it before but that 24 draft needed another safe bet & Reid was it…..

Would love to trade out Hopper and Ryan but can't see any takers. Use our cap room to move Ryan off the list this year and keep front loading Hopper to get rid of him possibly 2027 or more likely 2028.

Exactly. Bolton was going thru the motions. Another year would have been complete waste and would have gone home anyway.

Whilst I understand your argument. Anyone who isn't taking Reid ahead of Richmond player in that draft except Lalor has rocks in their heads. And Hotton is probably my favourite player on our current list.

I think you bassically have to make the call on Ryan at this point. Lynch has to play on though imo

There is no point in keeping Lynch another year at the cost of cutting a player like Fawcett
Lync is on his last legs and struggles to get off the ground and will only get worse
We are not winning a flag in the next 2-5 years so think long term and get games into the kids

It's much easier to make a case for Lynch than playing Prestia, TT, Hopper in the centre for the last 3 years. For one thing without Lynch we barely have anyone making a contest, which ruins our gameplan and will stymie the development of our small forwards.

I'm not super opposed to Lynch retiring but it's not nearly as much as a no-brainer as Prestia retiring last year.
