he is the best out of that list and by using a late pick in the National Draft it lets us chase someone like brennan who can only be taken in the PSD.
I will absolutely bleed if we take this guy, yes he is built, but have you really watched this guy or just been sucked in by the crap Sheedy speel that he was a tough man. More than any of the Essendon players I saw him pull out of contests a number of times, one occasion was gainst us at the MCG in the rain 2 yrs ago. Game was in the balance, it was his time to go (following the flight of the ball) and he didn't. I don't want any guy like that at the club, he may look hard and will come at you and act all tough but when it's time to go, especially in Finals you want someone that will. He won't.

Mark Johnson cannot come to Carlton, simply due to the amount of teasing and ridiculing we've done of him over his career. He's a slow, cross-eyed hack. He has been point-blank CUT from a team plenty tip to be in the running for the spoon next year.

Seriously, if Rutten is available THROW money, women, drugs, whatever he wants. He would make it the best off-season ever.
Would Rutten get past Richmond?? Would we take somebody as flighty as Brennan??
The way I see it all we need to do is tempt another big name into the PSD meaning we get one of two good prospects.
Xavier Clarke would be great, his got this X factor when his fully fit
this bloke plays every 5th game... not because of lack of skill because of injury. He gets injured every time he falls over!

We've just lost Kennedy - we will be drafting another forward no doubt. Walsh can be thrown a lifeline for a one year contract if nobody else better finds their way into the draft.

played footy with Walsh on a regular basis and he is a very very lazy footballer. Since 2001 he has had a badly broken collar bone, broken leg, knee reco and a string of hamstring problems relating to the knee reco and the guy is 22. Serious clouds hang over his continual fitness.
Johnson will assit kids like murphy and gibbs. The "protection" he could provide enables them to sharpen their skills and build their bodies up over his time at the club. The fact that we could pick him up really cheap late in the National Draft like Rodan is a bonus. We can still use our PSD pick for someone of the ilk of brennan or rutten.

The likes of Fergus Watts and Djaren Whyman would be worth looking at for a potential rookie list. Perhaps even senior list in Watt's case.
We should also closely look at Nathan Batsanis from Port Adelaide. Was regarded as being desperately unlucky not to get drafted last year and instead was selected in the rookie draft. Had a few groin injuries this year and never really got to hit his straps, would surely welcome the chance to come back to Melbourne as well.

Exactly, the guy is 22. Has plenty of footy ahead of him if he can get himself right. Imo he'd be perfect to draft to fill the void for the gap of Kennedy.
Johnson is too old and will not help our on field performance - One player will not protect all the young guys in our team. The team needs to protect each other and work together to move forward.
Johnson will just take up cap room and will take the spot in the team ahead of someone like an Anderson. No thanks.

But somehow I think that if drugs are involved, Ben is going to be playing for the prison football team for a few years.
Unless he can get released to a Melbourne prison and do a deal where he gets weekend release to play for Richmond.

It was rumoured that Carlton was going after Josh Drummond from Brisbane. Quick half back flanker, good skills ..... anyone heard anymore about him. Is apparantly out of contract also .... another good young kid to add to our already impressive list.
