He's absolutely a fan favorite.

With good reason. He gives so much of his time to the fans he deserves to get the love back. Never seen a footballer so accomodating of the supporters. Always first out for a chat, a photograph, or an autograph, always last to leave. And only then after he's made sure everyone's been accommodated.

Alright now my source is usually dead on, but as I said. It's open to interpretation.

Hartlett is a chicken stew man, rather than beef. Hartlett to sydney roosters confirmed.

Still a better news breaker than Damian Barrett.

That...that is salary cap pressure...

Disagree.

No single team in the afl could have matched the buddy offer , or the gcs offer to Ablett.

They were anomalies created by in-balances the afl created.

It is entirely different from ... Team A has success , has a lot of good players and can't fit all under the salary cap so someone gets squeezed out situation ...

Never heard of so many post season trade rumours involving Port Adelaide players. Most of it is just media driven speculation to try to destabilise the club.

The thing is, none of them bar Schulz (who eventually re-signed) are even slightly believable:
  • A heart and soul player whose brother is the club's unofficial Twitter troll.
  • A vice captain who is one of only two AFL experienced ruckmen on our list and the only one without a two year doping suspension hanging over his head.
  • A contracted 30 year old who was dropped multiple times this year and has a two year doping suspension hanging over his head.
  • A contracted 20 year old supposedly going for big money to a club that isn't allowed to trade in players on big money.
Who could believe this rubbish? If you're going to make stuff up at least give us Andrew Moore to Melbourne or something that doesn't look like it belongs in Bay 13.

Seriously , like 18 afl teams are all wooing like 200 afl players at the moment. 18 clubs are talking to managers and maybe to players and maybe contracts are being discussed ...

When media outlets decide to bang on about one or two in particular , even though they are contracted you seriously have to consider there is a motive behind it. Hartlett isn't going anywhere .... They just want to distract from other crap , fill some airtime , and port is a target. We are a target because we are a threat , and the media being mostly made up of pro vic campaigners or in this state people who work for the crows aren't gonna target their friends.

What opposition clubs and the media don't seem to understand is how tight our club and playing group is. The fact is that nobody actually wants to go anywhere. And why would they? You can offer Hartlett whatever you like but he's going to re-sign for less because he wants to win a flag at Port with his teammates. You can do the same with Wines and Wingard, rinse and repeat. It's the Geelong model.

They say loyalty is dead and that football clubs are a business now. 'They' are obviously not Port Adelaide.

Hammer will get a nice big back ended contract. Remember a new Salary Cap starts in 2017 and whilst the cash the AFL is getting from its media rights has gone from $1,118 mil over 5 years to $2,308mil over 6, and the players this time wont get the biggest slice of that increase like last time, expect the cap to go up by at least 10% the first 2 years and 5% the next 4. That would mean the 2016 cap of $10.3mil will go to about $11.4mil in 2017 and $12.5mil in 2018. So the smart clubs like the smart manager will be looking at big pay increases after the 2016 season being written into long term contracts being negotiated at the moment for star players.

I guess they see players leaving The Crows left, right and centre and figure it must be a South Australian epidemic.

I could be completely wrong here and just pulled this from no where but I thought it was against the rules to put a contract in front of a contracted player from an opposition team? Aka what's happening with Hartlett by both Richmond and north Melbourne apparently big offers for multiple years for big money. Isn't that what the whole betts and Adelaide scenario was about late last year? Although I would be highly shocked if he left it seems a little unfair that unless a players shows a desire to leave that teams shouldn't be allowed to offer contract terms to another teams contracted player. Could be wrong though.

Can't make direct contact with a targeted player, but can contact his manager and get the player to inspect the deal.

Ahk that's where was confused then. Cheers. Hartlett is to young for nth Melbourne anyway so can disregard them, they have podsy to chase after his retirement

Want more clues from Arsene Wenger ;)

And what about the rumour of Port really into the men? I thought it might be an anagram of Intotheportmen but the closest I could get with that was Natalie Portman.

You'd pretty much need to relocate Hartlett's entire family and circle of friends to even be in with some sort of a shot of prizing him out of Adelaide.

When I stumble into football conversations here in CBR I take time to explain that "they" have nothing to do with "us" and that "they" don't represent our State. Small steps.

Arsene Wenger thought it might have been a reference to ruck men?

But that doesn't make sense .... Unless we are talking to gorringe and lycett ....

I wonder who we have our eyes on in the draft to replace the talls we sacked. What we have done with some very late picks this year is amazing.

I think we need 3.
Dixon
A development ruckman that can also play forward. (or development forward that can ruck)
Also depending on where we choose to play Howard, a development KPF or KPD.
