- Bad kicking is bad football.

- Winning in the midfield is not the same as winning the game, you need forwards and you need to kick to them so they can mark the ball.

- Don't expect 1st year players to play like veterans. (and don't rag on them when they don't)

- Be versatile, not predictable.

- If you have a team on the ropes, finish the job.

Which 1st year player was wearing the blue & white?

"If you have a team on the ropes, finish the job"

Were they more than a goal in front at any stage?

Our team has plenty of depth.
As a consequence some ordinary players look great but when the chips are down it is another story.

Selection is very importent. Do NOT go in with players who are underdone.

Our team lacks some speed and needs a revamped forward line when you look at todays performance

Nothing to add although I thought the only first year player (Harry) played pretty well!

Would your mob be interested in Andrew Lovett who would provide that run through the midfield?

Straight swap for Kane Tenace?

I love it 24 hours ago you were the best team in history:)

And the Saints are still the biggest joke in history. Will Lyon get the sack if he gets you into the finals next year? After all, Alves and Thomas got the arse after leading you guys into consecutive finals series.

Biggest lesson - Hawthorn for whatever have our measure evry bloody time. We better find a way to crack that because that mob will be around the gf for the next few years...
We need a consistant forward - Lesson 1

Win the flag before you start trumpeting yourselves as the best one season team of all time.

We won our flag last year by the greatest margin ever. You won your only flag ever by a single point almost fifty years ago and have been obliterated in every recent finals series you've played in.

-As much as Geelong like to move the ball quickly, you cannot afford to rush the ball forward haphazardly against well organised defences. Hodge had a field day picking us off today, as did the Bulldogs last week.

-Varcoe is still a rabbit in the headlights when he gets possession. Witness his effort when running into goal 40m out and decided to pass. I still think he can be a good player, but someone needs to give him a good shake and tell him to back himself and take the game on.

-We learnt who can stand up when it matters. Ablett, Ling, Scarlett, Selwood and to a lesser extent Corey all played really well when things were tough.

-You cannot carry passengers or unfit players in a GF.

-Lonergan was a useful fill in, but will struggle to hold his spot in 09.

-Bad kicking is bad football (x10)

Good chance of getting delisted isn't he:rolleyes:

Pass. Suck it up princess.

Guess it is too soon to start thinking rationally again.

Was worth the try. :D

Don't believe the hype and don't be so arrogant.

Also don't allow your coach to be seen eating ham sandwiches during the game.

Be humble.

bomber cant coach, lonergan cant play for shi t, stokesw is pathetic, kelly is to busy trying to hold 5 girlfriends at once, blake is worst then jamar, varcoe is like the worlds best magician, cant find him, hunt is weak as water, mooney cant kick for shit and we cant beat the hawks

We've all been fed the Geelong hype all year by the media this year. "Awesome, near impossible to beat, killer midfield, too many champs, too many All Australians"....blah, blah, blah.
We were all waiting for the Cat's skill to kick in today and be too much for the Hawks.

But when all excuses are washed away....you were beaten by a team with hearts as big as the 'G'.
The Hawks pulled you down to the level that suited them. Hardness and emotion.

How do you train for that?
How do you instill that?

Go hard at the ball when it is one the ground, Hawks did that today, showed they wanted it more from the start. Great work from the Hawks congratulations on a fantastic win...

PS why did Stuey Dew get Booed when collecting his medal he was my Norm Smith medalist....
