Is lloydy the most one dimensional full forward to play the game?

When he is on he is on but I have never seen him turn it on in any other part of the ground?

Generally if he is not kicking goals he is not doing anything else.

And for god sake isn't the first rule of Junior footy to " keep your feet"

Surely someone could teach him that.

He cant FFS! He's always been a Full Forward nothing else. That's the only position he knows. He has cemented the FF position at Essendon since 1996 how would he know to play any other position.

Actually Lloydy played alright in a shithouse side. Kicked some goals and took a couple of good marks. Tried his hardest up the ground but I'm afraid he needs to stay at FF. We need Scotty!

He has only ever played Full Forward and will play FF for the rest of his career.

What are you trying to suggest "play him Full back!".

All I want from Lloyd is to keep his feet more in marking situations, its very hard to put on defensive pressure when your on the ground.

Yep agree-- leave him there and teach him to keep his feet. He is one dimesional and needs to be left in the square. Watch how many times a ball is cleared from a contested situation with LLoyd on a lead. if he doesn't mark it - 90% of the time it is cleared because he has that bloody habbit of going to ground. It is just not good enough!!!

If we could actually kick the footy to him he may go alright. He has lost some of the zip he had on the lead but yesterday i counted 12 leads he made where he was clear but the kicks came in high and he had to prop and slow down which meant his opponent was able to jump over him and punch the ball away. If we actually hit him low and hard with just half of the kicks he would have had six shots at goal and kicks maybe 4.2 or 3.3 more.
Yes he is not as quick as he used to be and he is not as good in contested situatins since he broke his arm and yes he is one dimentional but the feed to him is terrible. We can't consistantly hit him when he is in the clear.

He is a proven performer. But look at the facts.

He has also lost the support of Lucas and no doubt the retirement of Hird has also had an effect on the team.

A predominantly youthful team. Bad delivery at times and not being 100% fit. Give him a chance.

Should never leave the forward area just stay there, but poor old Matty has to go up ground to get his cheap kicks so his stats look better, that sticks out like the balls on a dog, he is so dumb he can't see that, a new term for our captain.

I think he tries to "impose" (I say that very loosely) himself a lot more these days as captain by moving up the ground a lot more and taking a grab or two on the wing and getting into the play. This does not suit him. He always has, and always will be a Full Forward so he needs to stay down there. It also raises the question whether he can captain a side from Full Forward, especially when his midfield is regularly beaten.

I think his minor celebration as well yesterday after kicking a goal to reduce the margin to "only" 8 goals in the last quarter when the game was over was a little over the top. It was brief, yes, but he looked totally delighted to kick the goal as if we were going to win the game. Look, I think he is great and one of our most important and influential players, but whether he can captain a rebuilding team from Full Forward with a midfield that is struggling is going to be a constant issue.

Yep, they're were/are one dimensional... and they're also going to be the only 6 full-forwards to kick over 1000 goals. The only player to kick over 1000 goals that had the versatility to play in another position, arguably the greatest footballer in history, Gary Ablett Snr. Nuff said!

One was arguably a poster, one was a gimme and one was when the game was dead and buried. For whatever reason, he's not the Lloyd of old, who I would really fear whenever we played Essendon...
