How on earth am I wrong? Let’s for a second agree that Lachie hasn’t signed, by the AFL rules he can still sign any day and be moved on to Carlton’s rookie list in between the 2 drafts, correct? I’m not wrong.

He's already delisted = no contract.

Getting moved to the rookie list isn’t bad for players now. If LOB breaks out next year (very unlikely I know) he is now a lifetime free agent who can leverage that to get a better deal.

Agreed. And we're about to promote Kennedy from rookie to senior list after he pulled the finger out and worked hard for a spot. This shows that there is hope in the future for O Brien but he needs to earn it. More than likely if he does come on another club will pick him up as a free agent
