But what's wrong with this one. Why the need to change a thread that is going along nicely?notenoughteams said:You are free to start the next religion sucks thread is his apparent answer.
Closing it without giving a reason is pretty poor form Groves.bunsen burner said:But what's wrong with this one. Why the need to change a thread that is going along nicely?

Not started by me tiger, so point the finger somewhere else.otaku said:you mean, like the dozen or so middle east threads that are on the front page alone?

Besides the plethora of middle east threads do sometimes contain interesting and thought provoking responses from posters (well, until the likes of Jane/miller/eagle wade in with their tripe); the christianity thread rarely ascended beyond kindergarten level.
Never defensive tiger, never defensive.otaku said:wasn't pointing the finger, champ. Dont get all defensive there, big guy.
Pay more attention to them and find out.The middle east threads are dominated by Guru "yay the yanks" jane and Dan "go the freedom fighters" warna. How are they any more or any less interesting than the thread on christianity?
Seems to me cowboy that the christianity thread had little interest to most - presumably why Groves locked it.Seems to me, tige, you shouldnt read threads that dont interest you.

Looks like you were wrong then doesn't it big fella.otaku said:definately seems that way, you champion. I never mentioned who started threads - merely pointed out they were there. You then jumped in with *well, I didnt start them*
Sure thing ace, sure thing.maybe you should pay more attention to what people write. I asked how are they any more or less interesting? Seems to me, interest is based on the reader. If you find threads on the current activities in the middle east interesting - good on ya, big boy.
I'm assuming the missing word is "interesting". As a rule I don't read them but when they fail to die a natural death and keep lingering on the main page they can be difficult to ignore. If you dont find threads on christianity and related topics - dont read them.
Sure ,whatever that means.strange to say that it had little interest to most, when it is one of the largest threads in the last two pages.

I'm assuming the missing word is "interesting"... As a rule I don't read them but when they fail to die a natural death and are continually bumped back up with inane posts by the usual suspects then I will reserve the right to comment. If you dont find threads on christianity and related topics - dont read them.

Looks like mantis has just blown you out of the water there with her "who posted" post. Care to retract the above?

otaku said:thats only because you become vicious and aggressive. And I notice you dont comment on the others, either
Sure thing champ.otaku said:I notice when people have no comeback to a statement - they respond with "sure thing" or "yeah, whatever". Seems to me, you know you are just p|ssing about. Any particular reason, champ?
For some reason the idea of a thread on public forum being the private enclave of juveniles annoys me. Not sure why, what do you think big boy?difficult to ignore? What are you OC or something? just dont open the thread, big boy. Or are you too much of a forum sl ut not to open a thread you know you wont be interested in?
No it wasn't and you know that. Keep dreaming. As I say, three or four einsteins like yourself kept making the souffle rise.not at all - 15 people with posts of 20 or above in the thread - seems to me it was pretty popular.
Stop dreaming tiger. It seems reality is escaping you. How's this for an analogy - I could start a new thread; engage 1 or 2 other posters in a discussion about whatever. The said thread has no interest whatsoever to anybody else yet because I feel like continually bumping it back to the top with a pointless comment or two the thing lingers forever. Others chip in very occasionally and bingo we have a "popular" thread. Yet to you it's a popular thread - as I say deluded. The next largest thread was about the election, with 169 posts. Only 1 person over 20 in that thread. So, seems i dont have to retract anything, eh tiger?
