When looking back over the decades and generations of society (western or otherwise), there's a lot in the past that is now considered reprehensible, socially and ethically, and even just in terms of laughing at what things humanity used to believe in, what they wore, attitudes like smoking is cool, etc etc.

Given all that.....what is there in TODAY's society that will be found to be morally reprehensible, and/or what will be looked at with laughter, say 50 years from now?

I'd like to think people will grow out of having imaginary friends and basing life decisions on interpretations of 2,000 year old texts but I think that is wildly optimistic at this point.

I have long held the belief that humanity will eventually abandon religion, even outlaw it. I think we're closer to that than further away from it.

People will be shocked weed was illegal, itll be a bit like us and the prohibition now (shocked maybe not the right word, but you know what I mean)

Now that's interesting to me....because for the last few months, secretly (until now), i've been working on a new phonetic English alphabet.

Adding more vowels for all the different vowel sounds, and replacing some of the sounds made by consonants with a single new character.

This wouldn't surprise me.

English has evolved a hell of a lot in the 400 odd years since the days of Shakespeare. No reason why it won't continue to evolve going forward.

I hardly hear 'hi' now, personally i greet a person with their name/nickname or 'how are you?/hows it going?' if its a stranger.
