That was me. He's probably a good kid, but he has a long WAFL career ahead of him.Whoever it was bagging Toovey, he was right.
I think Toovey has shown the capability to play at AFL level.
It's hardly fair to rate a young kid down on confidence off so little...
Welcome to reality, at least three players need to be delisted each year, and more if we want to promote rookies who can actually play the game, such as Clarke.
Not looking to troll here, but the lack of respect paid to the Tiges, not only at the selection table but on the night showed.
Fair call, and I agree that with a run to the finals, a rest can do you the world of good, but to not play Didak, who has carved us up, and Clarke, who is in great form an is high in confidence was certainly a big mistake. If you guys get done by Melbourne next week, there may not be finals on the radar anyway.Maybe so, but keen to read what you mean on the 2 points 1. selection and 2 on the night.- Lets keep in mind when we the supporters hear that players are rested it may well mean that they have an injury.
May agree with this. Saw Tony Shaw On the Couch this week and he said something like: "Tom Hafey smashed us, I mean he always smashed us at training, but he really smashed us that night". Maybe MM needs them down at Willy 6 oclock am, day after the game for a swimming session? Always seemed to work when I was in the Army and we flucked up, we would do the obstacle course 2 or 3 times or bayonet fighting with helmets and body armour until someone went down with heat exhaustion. Tended to get everyone switched back on for a month or so. Sure pats on the back are great when you win, but when you lose like last night a kick in the ring might also be deserved. That was worse than the loss to Richmond last year because at least that was earlier in the year and they weren't as bad as this year. Thank god West Coast lost to Brisbane and Freo or we would be the laughing stock of the league. Some real facts:
Two key position forwards wont win you finals or grand finals especially when one isnt in the greatest form. Its delusional to think otherwise.
Resting AFL players is stupid. Does any other team do this. Didnt they learn from last year.
If your best player can play then why opt on the side of caution at this point during the season. Really really stupid.
As a coach its good to have game day tactics blah blah blah, blah but you also need a coach ready to kick the players up the arse hard. You really have to question some players committment at the moment. Alas it seems that running around town as an AFL player is much more important than running around the football field. Disipline needs to be installed and any player who doesnt like it can bugger off. Its time to get professional if we want to get results on the feild.
