I think this has been well and truly over due with the hard work that Ball has been doing for this football club.

Tonights' stats;

Kicks - 12
Handballs - 16
Tackles - 9
Contested Possessions - 11
Centre Clearances - 7
Inside 50 - 6
Marks - 6
One Percenters - 7

Although he kicked 3 goals last week, I believe this was clearly a better all round performance from Luke, he was just outstanding.

It is now debatable which one of Luke Ball or Darren Jolly were the better pick up, something probably un thought of pre season.:thumbsu:

Jolly and Ball are both settling in now. Loving how hard Ball goes in the packs, and also his tackling.

Cheers to that.

Dirty Saints mightn't be as smug as they were after a few games settling in.

Sensational tonight. Gives our midfield what it's been lacking for some time, as does Jolly. Suddenly we're dominating stoppages, and the scoreboard is showing it. Keep it up Luke. :thumbsu:

I wouldn't be bagging the Saints. We should send them a big 'thank you' note for gifting us such a wonderful player with great character.

Send 'em a thank you note, laced with poison.

Hey I'm happy we got him and all, but I'd much rather shove it in their face than thank them. :D:):thumbsu:

Nice work from Bally again tonight. Gotta say that he really is starting to settle into this magpie midfield very well. A cog of vital nature he is becoming. Good pickup pies.

The bloke is just a pure gem. Leading our tackle count by a long way, and 6th overall. If there is any sort of a pack with people throwing themselves in, you can take it as a given that he will be the last to pick himself up from the bottom of it.

Best on ground for mine again tonight, absolutely murdered himself in the middle, was involved in everything.
Need to make sure we carefully manage him, he looked very battered and bruised by the end of the game. Love how willing he is to bleed for the club though and the blokes seem to love him, every time they rush in to pick him up off the ground and pat him on the bum.

Under-appreciated at St.Kilda, I'm glad we're not stupid enough to make that mistake. A monty for the leadership group next year.

We need to have a Luke Ball appreciation week around here I reckon, everyone should change their avatars to a picture of him and have a signature thanking Ross for his gracious gift :D The Saints boys would hate it, I'm sure they are already fuming just watching him though!

He was fantastic tonight. He was tenacious in his tackling, a class above at the clearances and his disposal was really good throughout the night. He was absolutely knackered the at the end of the game (even by his standards, you could see it in his face) which is a testament to how hard he worked. He deserves everyones respect for tonights effort. He's been a great fit for our midfield and performing above expectations at this point in time :thumbsu:

Anything you suggest invig would be well worth it considering your history of avatars! Now, just need that pic of L Ball, where would i find that.....?

Great to see Bally playing some great footy, got a lot of respect for the bloke and he's still one of my favorite players.

Just a pity he's doing it for the wrong team! ;)

Hahaha, I'll see if I can find a really hot one of Luke with his cleavage out just to continue my good form :p

Luke Ball appreciation week is officially marked down as the 11th to the 17th of July this year, where on the final day (July 17th), we beat the Saints at the MCG.:thumbsu:

Good to hear. The guy is just so willing to sacrifice himself for the team. It's a pity for the Saints, but a blessing for us that Malthouse saw all his strengths as a player and decided we would play to them. Whereas Ross Lyon seemed to just focus on his weaknesses and demand that he played in a manner that he was not suited.

He is beastly.

To keep showing such disregard for your body when the team is up by 50 in the second half is unbelievable.

He was sensational tonight, just did the team things all the way, never lairised and threw himself at the ball from go to woah. :thumbsu:

Would love to be a part of that.
