Actually he lifts his arm to lift the tackle from the upper arm up to around his neck. A technique becoming more common by players around the league. This will not be fixed as there is no obvious way to fix it other than for players to change their tackling technique. For those that say you can't tackle around the hips because the player gets the disposal away etc etc should have a look at Thomas's tackling tonight. The perfect example.

A single player being a blight on the game is laughable though considering he is one of many. Just better than most others at it.

Yeah has to come from the umpires but pretty hard to adjudicate it though.

He doesn't really duck, he just creates the high contact through getting his arm underneath the tackler's, and then raising his arm, causing the tickle to slip high. With no intention to escape the tackle, just trying to get a free kick. He seems to do it almost every single time he gets tackled, certainly if he's in the forward line.

It's a blight on the game, no doubt.

Oh for **** sake, he got taken legitimately high every time tonight. Just because he gets tackled high doesn't mean he ducked.

He may not be the only one, but he does it way more then anyone else. He's been doing it every game he's played this year.

Honestly can't believe the umpires haven't woken up to him yet. I think he's better then that, will be a great footballer but jeez there's no need for what he does, don't like it one bit.

It's not rocket surgery. Closest arm is always the one to shrug the tackle high and their far arm tucks in the ball. So tackle close side at their waist and fling the far arm around to pin the upper arm and lock in the ball. They can't hit a target in that situation so it is a win to the defender.

He got 6 free kicks in tonights game. Twice as much as the next player on three. It's his first instinct to duck when he is under pressure. Other players do it aswell but to nowhere near the same degree and it's just wrong how he gets rewarded for it. He's the complete opposite to Daniel Kerr who I actually respect (on field).
