Movie M&E: Movie Of The Week

In Hell over on the Dees board, we have started a movie of the week thread which has been fun so thought I might bring the idea to the board dedicated to entertainment.

The premise: Each Sunday a poster who wants to be part of this will be selected on a rotational basis to select a movie for us to watch. We have a week to watch the movie if we can and discuss it in this thread. Preferably we would select a movie that is available on the free to air streaming services such as SBS on Demand, 7 Plus and so on. As most have Netflix this is also an option. Or you might be able to get it another way.

There is no obligation, just an opportunity to perhaps have movies suggested to you you might never watch otherwise and do likewise for others. Also the opportunity to discuss the movie and you opinions on it. Anyone welcome to jump in at any time.

Netflix best for me. For movies Max is ok. Didn't like stan. Prime I hate. Parents got ad version and it's also slow to skip. I'd love to have a touch slider

I think the idea has been tried a few times on this board, but it's never really taken off. There needs to be a critical mass of people committed to the idea to make it work though.

You really don’t need too many posters. We’ve got a movie of the week thread going on the Melbourne sub board hell and we’re only up to about eight posters part of it but it’s awesome discussion every week.

Might end up incorporating those interested in this joining the one we have on the hell board. We don’t go random or a vote, each poster gets to select a movie each week on rotation. Has been great for watching movies I would normally not watch.
