At the Eagles we have always been blessed with great key defenders.

I couldn't be happier with the progress of E-Mac.

May he enjoy a long and successful career at the club and Glassy pass on the mantle as he was passed on by Ashley.

I reckon Glass will be around for a bit longer than 3 years. Backmen usually last longer and he's in good shape

Here's an article basically confirming that Mackenzie is about to be signed and that we shouldn't have too many worries getting Brown to put pen to paper either. :thumbsu:

Impressive youngster Eric Mackenzie is poised to beat coach John Worsfold to the punch and re-sign with West Coast for at least two more seasons.

The West Australian understands an announcement on the 21-year-old’s future will be made within 24 hours

Brown, whose 2008 campaign was torpedoed by a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, is keen to stay with the Eagles, who are in talks with his management.

Liam Pickering, Brown’s manager, said yesterday he did not envisage any problems with the contract negotiations.

I found the following very interesting as well.

"Several other experienced Eagles, notably Matt Priddis, Mark Nicoski and Andrew Embley, also are seeking new deals."

It will be interesting to see what the wash up of these negotiations will be.

Glad he is being re-signed.

Needs to get his confidence back. Seems he lost it when he lost us the Sydney game and hasn't been as dominant as he was before. Just needs to back himself again.

Great news !

Emac and Brown are crucial to the line-up.

Loyalty breeds success. We need to keep the youngsters together.

Embley will sign 1 or 2 years I reckon..

Probably the same with Nicoski.
They may look at some 1+1 style deals if they are smart. Not sure if the AFLPA Agreement allows for those though

Priddis would get at least two years, Embley probably the same, Nicoski at least one year extension. Unless someone offers over the odds for them.

This is the speed in which things change.:)

McKenzie was thrown into the line-up last year because of the injury toll.
I watched him in the scratch match and thought he had come on in a big way and might press for selection this year.
My concern was that he was a junior Glass and I wasn't sure he could fit into the side in that mold.
Not only has he made the side but he has taken on some of the stars and played well above what was expected.
I take my hat off to you McKenzie, you will be one of our great players and I forgive that error, F^&#$%@g silly and careless error but I forgive. :D;)
