So I watched some of the gameplay footage from Gamescom. Looks pretty decent I must say. Whether the content is there or not impossible to tell, but the general gameplay looks good.

Pretty framey due to some nice physics going on, hopefully they don't remove them before release.

Caved and got it after work. Will be pumping many hours into this and MGS.

First impressions were good, graphics are really nice, gameplay seemed solid and driving cars in the Wastland will be loads of fun I can already tell.

Is the combat all melee or can you use guns too?
You get a Shotgun and some ammo right at the start, but once you use your 3 or 4 bullets you're stuck in combat fighting for a fair while.

Seems like you'll actually have to scavenge ammo, water, fuel for cars etc. Liking that aspect.

Nah you never have to scavenge for that stuff, it's basically a mechanic for mechanics sake.
PC port is awesome, Avalanche know what they're doing. Runs flawlessly.
Game itself is quite bland though, definitely feels like a missed opportunity. Could have been a great game, feels like they gave up on it at some point.

Beating the shit out of enemies is still fun as hell. As is ramming into vehicles and blowing them up. Had good fun running down conveys this evening.

Only an hour or so in, but loving it so far. My view is always going to be skewed though ad I am a big fan of the franchise.

Must say that the map of Australia on the wall behind the Magnus Opus from the sun shining through got me right in the feels.

Loving this so far, the combat and vehicle combat both work so well in tandem.

The world is surprisingly fun and there's so far been plenty do to in it. With that being said, I can see how it'll drag a little considering I've only done about 1/3rd of the full map so far in my number of hours and I feel like it's great now but could definitely get a little old eventually. That might be when I choose to just go through the story.

The world is just so well made too, everything feels so Mad Max. It doesn't feel like it's just an 'Assassin's Creed game' in a post-apocalyptic world or something like that. This feels very much like it's own thing with it's own unique elements. I love how occasionally a big sandstorm comes across the world, the first time I saw it and saw it rolling in was absolutely awe inspiring.

I like how you have finite health and can only replenish it by water or eating maggots or dog food. And I absolutely love that the main character is an Aussie, it's so awesome seeing and hearing Aussies in a game, especially a AAA title like this. Except, that I HATE how Chum incorrectly says 'Dinki-Di'...

Really like the capture mode functions too, they let you see and do a lot more than they probably should. But it helps to get some nice shots...like these:

I gave this a solid workout on the weekend and loving it so far. It does have the potential to be a do a section, rinse and repeat on the next session. However with the skills you can improve and few other elements it should still be enough to keep the game interesting all the way through.

Looking at the images above, I might have to take advantage of the capture mode. There has been a few "whoa" moments in my game so far.

Anyone have the best price for this, online or instore? Also MGSV while I'm enquiring?

Thanks to the people who always answer me when I ask for prices, btw. I genuinely appreciate it.

$79 at Big W/JB is the cheapest I've seen in store.
