I think that this time its just a case of them not having the time to implement these things back in after rebuilding the whole Franchise/Superstar game mode.

Now whether that was due to unforeseen circumstances, poor time management or was intentional is another matter. I'd like to think that it hasn't been intentional, but its hard to disagree with the argument that having things to improve in the game has the potential to keep people buying the game each year as it is improved (even tho they could probably do all the improvements in one hit)

I'll probably buy it for random online games. But I wish the day comes (like backbreaker tried) where this genre (football) catches up with the advances in other genres like FPSers, 3PSers, etc.

I'd prefer editing for franchise to be available but I suppose it's not that big of a deal in light of all the other upgrades. But yeah I hope they don't just concentrate on online franchises because I'm a hardcore offline franchise guy. They need to fix the unrealistic stats from CPU teams in franchise mode maybe by implementing a system where you can change the quarter lengths of purely CPU games to make it level with the quarter length you play (like in NBA 2k)

Oh and someone might have already mentioned this, but does anyone think that progression will be waaay too easy with players being able to jump like 10 points in their rating each season if your team performs decently?

Offline Franchise has gotten lots of improvements this year under the 'Connected Careers' banner, too. It's just that you can no longer edit the rosters/players.

I could care less about that.

Yeah very true. There is always going to be cynicism accompanying each Madden release, but, despite my limited concerns, I could not be more excited for this one. Hurry up August!!!

So no fantasy drafting anymore was pretty much axing my favourite thing about Franchise mode, was great for multiplayer leagues.
I'm still looking forward to the expanded connected careers mode and would be keen to start a league here on BF (Xbox for me)

i never got to play madden with my NCAA draft class because the aussie version of Madden never had that feature. dont think ill buy madden this year till the price goes down, the NCAA game has been better for years and play it more than madden. plus the NCAA demo has been good this year.

Haven't bought it since 2010. Hopefully been enough improvements in it in three years to make it feel worth while.

Can you still win games running the same three or four plays on offense for most of the match?

Some people just argue a point for the sake of it and then wonder why people get pissed off at them and ignore them.

I'd be potentially interested but I don't know how much time I could commit and how much time would need to be committed etc.

i dont like the new infinity engine, playing the demo i did a screen pass and ran into the back of one of my blockers and my player bounced back and down like he was just hit hard by a DB. and some random times where they spin around on the ground after plays? i do like the new presentation way less dead noise. and "Primetime football" umm im playing a 1pm game or a 4:15 game not an 8pm game EA get it right.

also caught a TD on a slant with 1 hand reaching around a LB. WTF? tackled a guy about 5 yds behind the line and the ball was spotted with no gain? do they have the replacement refs in the game also? another one they guy landed on my dude the play continued so more players hit him and they called him down before he was hit a 2nd time. [the ball was marked where he landed on my CB, before he was down by contact.]

the reviews will have to be good for me to get madden this year
