The Queenslander was panned on social media for reversing his racquet on match point, gripping the head instead of the handle, and allowing opponent Fabio Fognini to land an unchallenged ace.
The vapid nature of Tomic’s 6-2 6-4 loss, coupled with the disinterested finale, has again alarmed high-ranking Olympic officials ahead of the Rio Games.
Tomic stood motionless as Fognini served, making no attempt to return before greeting the Italian at the net with a smile.

Yeah a bit hesitant to take his shots once he got in front; can't afford to do that against Wawrinka. I don't mind that though, I prefer it to him swinging at every single ball. Just has to find the right balance.Has let Stan back in in the tie breaker here

How was the backhand down the line from nick at 4-5 down in the tiebreak? Epic. Looks like leyani was pointing to the wrong mark on that double fault call.

His level of tennis has risen a fair amount this year and he is a smart tennis player. Really liking the improve,met of his backhand.

Did anyone else notice Nick holding his shoulder and wincing a bit early in the match? Hope he is not carrying an injury.
Also, is Stan a bit overweight? Looks a bit tubby around the midriff

Azarenka has withdrawn due ot a back injury. which means that one of Pavlyuchenkova, Cibulkova, Cirstea, Siegemund, Chirico and Gavrilova will make the final.

Nick played really well today. Don't think he'll do much damage at the french but I think Wimbledon he can really really do well. With a decent draw and a bit of luck he can give that slam a shake. It's easily his best surface.
