All of Judds incidents happen when play has stopped and the player he is trying to harm is on the ground and usually being held down by someone else.

Unbelievable hypocrisy for Carlton fans - after their (rightful) anger about Wellingham (which everyone agreed was worhy of a big suspension which it got) and their woeful bleating about Lonergan's tackle on Carrazo.

Now they excuse Judd's cold-blooded torture of a prone opponent. Judd had no intention other than to cause pain to an unsuspecting and defenceless person.

And not for the first time.

There may be players (Buddy springs to mind) that have missed more games due to suspension but really I am now finding it very difficult to make an argument that Chris Judd is not the dirtiest player in the sport.

1) He has twice been accused of eye-gouging.

2) The notorious "pressure point" case where he was rubbed out for three weeks.

3) The chicken-wing.

4) The elbow to Matthew Pavlich's face that inexplicably was excused by the AFL.

When you consider the nature of these incidents and compare them to every day breaches that get players suspended (illegal bumps, striking, etc), it is the lowbrow nature of these acts that define what is, in my opinion a truly dirty player.

Overlooking the Brownlow Medals and the rather tenuous defence that Chris is a "good bloke," can somebody, anybody put forward a rap sheet from a current player that is as ugly as Chris Judd's?

how many of these acts happened while he was with the Eagles and how many while playing for Carlton?

Both are done on spur of the moment with intent to hurt the other player and while the other player is unsuspecting. They are not different in those aspects; both go outside what is expected and what is in the rules.

The differential in control by both parties is probably the main point of difference, yet one is 'manly' while the other is 'a dog act'. The difference in the acts does not warrant calling out a lynch mob.

The sheer novelty of the action after the initial grab seems to have given people a license to get frothy as a latte in the hands of an alcy going cold turkey.
