The only good player of ours i'd be satisfied with trading is Kelly.

The Cats have two scenarios:

Bomber and Neil Balme can trade a premiership player or young player to POrt Power for their 4th pick in the draft. It just depends on what Port wants. Mark Williams holds the leverage. He can say YES or NO to any offer from any club in the AFL.

I don't think Geelong has a chance of gaining the 4th pick in the draft.

The only chance of getting a high pick in the draft is to trade a premiership player to Port.

I don't think Bomber will do it. He experienced the inner turmoil at Essendon when Peter Bradbury and Stephen Carey were sold off to gain Geoff Raines and Mike Richardson.

It took Essendon 3 years to recover from that bad business decision.

mark williams will put this next to the spot reserved for the 07 flag

just because he speaks, you do not need to act

the guy loves publicity, and will destabilise clubs because of his behaviour

kelly is going nowhere.

fringe players are the only ones that will go, and kelly is far from that

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!

Port are after a big fish. No offence to Kel & Trav and anyone else mentioned but I'd think that big fish from Geelong might mean Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett, Corey or Selwood. Even these 2 packaged isn't anywhere near pick 4.

Since Kerr has signed on the dotted line I'd say they'll keep pick 4 because ATM Ryan O'Keefe is the biggest fish on the market and at 28 and wanting $500K+ a year I can't see Port being too interested.

I would imagine these are the sort of names Port would expect from Geelong for Pick 4. Clearly that is not going to happen, so I can't see Port's pick ending up at Cat Land.

As for whoever suggested Mooney for Pick 4...ummm, no.

Also reckon Pick 4 will stay at Port. As stated above, Kerr has signed and O'Keefe won't happen. The other name thrown around was Didak but he ain't a Pick 4.

Hate to nit-pick but wasn't he drafted at pick 2?

3 according to wikipedia, I don't care enough to mash through flash ridden junk official sites.

If Mark Williams is looking to trade pick 4 for anything he clearly didn't watch his own team this year put in a disgraceful effort and thinks he is a lock for top 4 in 2009. Classic MW.

If we make any moves to lose talent to get a higher than 15 pick I expect the player we want to get to be a 250 game KPP, anything else is unacceptable for where we should be in the next 24 months.

Port wouldn't do the proposed trade in the original post because it doesn't involve a key position player. Port would possibly do the trade if Hawkins was offered but Geelong wouldn't, so i can't see Geelong taking pick 4.

What about Mitch Thorp from Hawthorn assuming he is fully fit? I cant see how Hawthorn expect to keep this guy long term. Pick 4 is probably too steep though but dont you also feel this deal was possibly directed at WC & Kerr initially too? A class mid? As for Didak he would become a liability.

Possibly Thorp but i've heard Hawthorn rates him very highly, and additionally Port were i believe put off with the way he interviewed in his draft year, he apparently made it clear he didn't want to move to Port/SA.

I wouldn't want Didak at Port, he would be a liability, and given he's not a kpp he wouldn't be worth it. I think Choco, is just inviting other clubs to make some offers in the hope the club would get something they couldn't refuse (eg Gumbleton/Leuenberger) but more than likely i think Port will keep pick 4.

Get Mark Williams to agree in principal to coach the cats after Bomber. Byrnes for pick 4 :D

Jumping at shadows guys. 2 losses for the season and we are wanting a clean out? It was an unlucky loss, our team list doesn't need any changes.

finally some sanity, KELLY is a required player and varcoe will continue improving over the next few years!!! Only players too look at moving on are tenace and possibly DJ even though im a big rap for him

Would do that deal, but doubt Port would.

Would take Vickery at #4, who'd sure up our ruck for the next 10 years.

Djerrkura takes Varcoe's spot as the defensive small forward, and we'd draft a midfielder at #15 to replace Kelly.

I'd like Tom Swift at #15, think he's got Joel Corey written all over him as a tall / ball winning midfielder.
